Angelina Jolie dazzled as she attended the Service of Commemoration and Dedication to mark the 200th anniversary of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George at St Paul's Cathedral in London on Thursday.The Maleficent star, 43, looked effortlessly chic in an ivory cowl-neck gown, as she became the star attraction of the service, after the Queen was forced to bow out due to reportedly contracting a summer cold.The brunette beauty proudly sported the sash badge of the order - a dazzling brooch coming in a silver-gilt and enamel - while she slipped on silk gloves to perfect her elegant ensemble for the dazzling bash.Adding a jaunty edge to her ensemble, she donned a beautiful ivory hat topped with a ribbon and wore her brunette locks swept up into a chignon. The Girl, Interrupted star accentuated her pretty features with smoky shadow and fluttery lashes, while her famous pout was slicked in a rose gloss. The star joined the congregation for the service and quickly became the star of the show following Her Majesty's withdrawal, with guests flocking around Angelina. The beauty was also seen sharing a special moment with her young fans, when a group of children gathered round to shake her hand and chat with the actress. The Order recognises service in a foreign country or in relation to foreign or Commonwealth affairs, such as the work of foreign service officers and diplomats. The Order consists of the Sovereign, Grand Master (Duke of Kent), 125 Knights and Dames Grand Cross, 375 Knights and Dames Commander and 1,750 Companions.The Badge of the Order depicts St George fighting the dragon on one side, and the archangel St Michael trampling Satan on the other. Angelina was invited as a recipient of an honour from the Order. She was awarded an honorary damehood in 2014 for services to UK foreign policy and her extensive work on the campaign to end sexual violence in warzones. It is granted by the Queen on the Prime Minister's advice.
The cathedral is the home of the Chapel of the Order of St Michael and St George, formally dedicated in 1906. The Queen was forced to cancel her appearance at the service because she is said to be suffering from a summer cold.A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: 'The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning's service at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St Michael and St George.'She added: 'Her Majesty will be represented by The Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order.'No doctor has been called and the 92-year-old Queen is expected to travel from Buckingham Palace in the capital to Windsor Castle in Berkshire this afternoon for the weekend as planned. Her programme of events in Scotland next week is also still due to take place. Angelina was previously in a relationship with actor Brad Pitt, 52; they were married in August 2014 but began a relationship in 2005. The duo, who split in September 2016, have six children, Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Vivienne and Knox, nine.She has been in London shooting Maleficent 2 with Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer. It was reported earlier this month, she wanted to make it a family affair by casting daughter Shiloh and son Knox in the Disney sequel that sees her playing the villain again. Her daughter Vivienne appeared in the first film, which came out in 2014. It's been alleged that the beauty's estranged husband refused to allow the two children to participate in what has been an ugly and ongoing custody spat stemming from her 2016 divorce filing, according to UsWeekly.
The insider revealed: 'He refuses to sign off her plan to include Shiloh and Knox in Maleficent 2. The kids are being used as pawns.'The source also said that the children were supposed to be in London with Angie for two weeks then go back to LA with Brad, but she then changed the plans. The magazine did not explain why she changed the plans but did have a Pitt source argue it was not fair. Pitt has been seen in London near her filming location.And then the publication added some very specific custody agreement details. The Ocean's 11 star has been allowed to 'host' one or two of the kids at a time in four hour intervals with a therapist present, the magazine claimed, from June 8 to June 17.And from June 27 until July 1, he may see the kids for 10 hours a day also with a therapist, it was claimed. Then from July 8 to July 14, Brad will spend 'four consecutive days' with the kids with a therapist present, it was alleged.From July 12 to July 29, he will return to California and he will have custody of the kids, it was reported.The source also said that Brad and Angelina do not talk to each other at all. 'They are not on good terms and are less than civil,' it was added. Their custody agreement is temporary and they will head back to court on August 13 to iron out firmer plans.

Actor-activist Angelina Jolie has urged the world community to unite to fight against the global refugee crisis that has rendered millions of people homeless and vulnerable.The 43-year-old actor, who serves as Special Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in a special essay for The Economist, wrote that the humanitarian support for refugees is chronically underfunded."The number of refugees worldwide has climbed for six consecutive years. Some 68 million people are now displaced by violence and persecution-equal to a fifth of the population of America, nearly half that of Russia, and more than the entire population of the United Kingdom," Jolie wrote on the World Refugee Day on Wednesday.The "Maleficent" star condemned nations fighting back against helping the millions of refugees around the world amid the criticism of US President Donald Trump's new "zero-tolerance policy" against illegal immigrants that has resulted in the separation of over 2,500 children from their parents at the US border to Mexico, since its implementation in April.Trump rolled back the policy on Wednesday after major backlash from around the world.Jolie said there was a need for people and nations to work together to prevent and resolve conflicts."It is not surprising that there is deep public concern, not because people are heartless, but because this is not a sustainable situation. But the answer is not countries adopting harsh unilateral measures that target refugees, and run counter to our values and our responsibilities. That will only inflame the problem,"said Jolie.She further added,"Instead, we must find ways to lower the number of displaced people worldwide, by preventing and solving the conflicts that drive them from their homes. We must try to rally people and nations to act together based on common interests and universal aspirations for security, dignity and equality: understanding that this does not come at the expense of our safety and economic well-being at home, but is an essential requirement when facing problems of international dimensions."The actor-director said refugees are at their most vulnerable and they deserve protection."We live in divisive times. But history also shows our ability to unite, overcome a global crisis, and renew our sense of purpose and community with other nations. That is the greatest strength of an open society. We should not leave the debate to those who would exploit public anxiety for political advantage. We are being tested today and our response will be the measure of our humanity." "A refugee is a man, woman or child at their most vulnerable: forced from their home, living without the protection of their state, and in many cases without the bare means of survival. Kristen Stewart never replaced Angelina Jolie in a movie, despite a report a year ago that wrongly said the younger star would take the Oscar winner’s part in the Bride Of Frankenstein. As Gossip Cop explained then, Jolie was still in talks for the role, while there had been no discussions about bringing Stewart on board. Now 12 months have gone by, and Stewart still hasn’t signed on to the film.On June 22, 2017, Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer for falsely claiming Universal Pictures no longer wanted Jolie to star in the Bride Of Frankenstein and was instead pursuing Stewart to play the title character. Jolie’s supposed demands were said to be getting in the way of the project. In unnatural language filled with scary movie puns, a so-called “snitch” alleged Jolie was “endlessly creating monster delays,” which indicated to executives that she “obviously wasn’t dying for the part.”“Execs suddenly rebelled at her witchiness, so now they’re bloodthirsty to sign young Kristen to flap her sexy cape,” alleged the tabloid’s insider in what was clearly a manufactured quote. It was further claimed in another suspiciously-worded statement that producers were “mooning about making millions from” Stewart’s “panting Twilight vampire fan freaks.” Though it was known that the film was slated to hit theaters in 2019, the magazine’s story was lacking other key information, such as when production would start, or how Javier Bardem, who was also in talks to be in the movie, felt about the casting switch.
And when Gossip Cop investigated, we learned from a source close to the production that Jolie was still the frontrunner and remained in negotiations for the lead role. As for the contention that executives were “woo-wooing” Stewart to replace her, our contact said her named hadn’t been mentioned as Jolie substitute at all. Now 365 days have passed, and it’s clear our reporting was correct: Stewart never replaced Jolie in the Bride Of Frankenstein.In fact, the project still hasn’t even gotten off the ground. Last October, after director Bill Condon started pre-production for a February 2018 shoot, Bride Of Frankenstein was postponed for further development. At that point, Jolie and Bardem still hadn’t officially signed on to the movie, though Deadline reported both remained interested and were going to see what would happen with the retooling. To date, though, there hasn’t been any further progress. The film was expected to be part of Universal’s “Dark Universe,” but no official plans have been announced for additional films following the lackluster performance of The Mummy.Meanwhile, Jolie started filming Maleficent 2 in late May and production is ongoing. As for Stewart, in March she was cast as real-life actress Jean Seberg in the political thriller Against All Enemies, which is filming this summer. In the last year no legitimate outlet ever linked her to Bride Of Frankenstein, further proving just how bogus the National Enquirer story was.

The custody battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is on the verge of getting ugly, and an inside source says their six kids are getting caught in the middle.“The kids are being used as pawns,” said the source.The latest spat, according to the Daily Mail, revolves around the former couple’s 12-year-old daughter Shiloh and 9-year-old son Knox. Jolie wanted them to appear on the “Maleficent” sequel, which she is currently filming in London. Vivienne, Knox’s twin sister, appeared in the 2014 original Disney movie.But Pitt has shut down the latest cameo idea.“He refuses to sign off her plan to include Shiloh and Knox in ‘Maleficent 2,'” the source said.A family court judge recently sided with Pitt and told Jolie to allow him more visitation rights with their children or risk losing primary custody of their six children, which also includes Maddox, 16; Pax, 14; and Zahara, 13. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.The judge ruled that Maddox is old enough to decide how much time he wants to spend with his father. As for their other five kids, the judge determined they could be harmed by “not having a relationship with their father.” Pitt spent Father’s Day in London with the children.According to Us Weekly, Pitt will “do anything to see his kids and have them in his life,” and that he is upset with Jolie for being “controlling of him through their children.”
