Are Angelina Jolie and Keanu Reeves dating? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop, however, can debunk the romance rumors.According to NW, the stars have been “quietly dating” since July 2017 when they supposedly took a “top-secret trip to a secluded Greek island together.” Jolie is said to have met the actor after she and her six kids moved next door to his mom’s house in Los Angeles. “They’ve never worked together and didn’t really get to know each other until last year,” says a supposed source. “Keanu is very close to his mom and visits her a lot.”The alleged insider goes on to say that Jolie’s kids approve of her relationship with the actor, who also enjoys “being around Ange’s children.” The questionable tipster adds, “He loves kids and has been a good influence on Ange. He’s so kind, giving and genuine – all the qualities Ange now wants in a man. She’s done with the drama.” As for Reeves, the “insider” says he’s “drawn to mysterious women like Ange who have a darker side.” The seemingly phony source goes on to say that Jolie and Reeves are keeping their relationship “firmly under wraps” for now, but the actor’s mom wants the two to go public. “She’d love to see Keanu finally settle down and Ange would fit right in with the family,” adds the suspicious tipster. The magazine’s report is pure fiction. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Jolie, who tells us on the condition of anonymity that the actress is single and entirely focused on her children. We’re further assured she didn’t vacation with Reeves in Greece in July 2017. Additionally, if the movie stars were truly in a relationship for more than a year now, it’s nearly impossible they wouldn’t have been spotted together. There’s also not a single other publication in the world that has romantically linked the two.Meanwhile, People magazine reported this past January that Jolie “is single and not interested in dating.” E! News confirmed in March that Jolie is “not dating” and remains “very focused on her kids.” Not only is that still the case, but it disproves NW’s claim that she’s been with Reeves since July 2017.It’s also worth noting, the tabloid can’t keeps its stories straight when it comes to Jolie’s love life. This year alone, the magazine has thrown her into nonexistent romances with Justin Theroux, Chris Hemsworth and her assistant director on the Netflix movie First They Killed My Father. Now the outlet wants readers to believe she’s been dating Reeves this whole time? It’s simply not true.

The UN needs a new body to investigate war crimes so that no one can escape justice

The UN General Assembly is viewed each year through the prism of speeches by world leaders at the marble podium. But the UN exists for the millions of people worldwide who will never set foot in its corridors: the “men and women of nations large and small” whose equal rights to justice and security are enshrined in the UN Charter. In principle, the UN belongs as much to the poorest refugee as it does to any President or Prime Minister. In practice, the interests and priorities of powerful member states determine which violations of human rights are addressed and which continue unchecked.World leaders gathered at the UN this week should recommit to the principle that there can be no long-term peace and security without accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity. This is a matter of self-interest as much as idealism. The erosion of the rule of law in any part of the world eats away at the foundations of our long-term security. Peace settlements that give amnesty for crimes against civilians perpetuate insecurity. Don’t take us on our word, look at history. The United Nations was born out of World War Two and the deaths of some 80 million people. The brave generation who fought and endured concluded that no country would be safe from the threat of war without international laws and institutions to prevent armed conflict and hold aggressors accountable. It is why planning for the creation of the UN began long before military victory was assured. It is why the Allied Powers prosecuted Nazi leaders for war crimes in a court of law, rather than simply vanquishing them on the battlefield.
"There is no nation so powerful that it can afford a weakening of the rules-based international system". The principle that no country should be allowed to use its sovereignty as an excuse to attack its neighbours or commit crimes against its own people derives from that experience.Since then we have seen decades of efforts to erode impunity for crimes against humanity, including the war crimes tribunals for Cambodia, Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia, among others, and the International Criminal Court: set up not to supplant national justice but as a court of last resort in cases where there is neither the will nor the capability to achieve justice locally. The existing system is far from perfect and justice has been selectively applied, but our goal should be to improve, not undermine, the gains of recent years, at a time of growing threats to international security. There is no nation so powerful that it can afford a weakening of the rules-based international system. The conflicts in Syria and Myanmar trigger every trip wire for collective diplomatic international action through the UN: alleged war crimes against a civilian population, threats to international peace and security and, in the case of Syria, the repeated use of banned weapons. Much of the same could be said of the conflict in Yemen.Yet millions of the citizens of these and other countries still see no credible prospect of justice and accountability. We hear again the excuse of national sovereignty being used to shield those responsible for atrocities. If this goes unchallenged, there will be no deterrent against future aggressors and the result will be an even more dangerous international environment.

Angelina Jolie NOT ‘Still Missing’ Brad Pitt, Despite Report

A report claiming Angelina Jolie is “still missing” Brad Pitt is completely made-up. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus premise. It’s simply not the case.Celebrity Insider has recycled an equally phony HollywoodLife article about the actress “suffering major fear of missing out whenever she sees Brad looking amazing post-split.” An alleged insider says, “She can’t deny that Brad is aging well, especially now that he is cleaning up his act, Angie feels that he looks better and sexier than ever.”The questionable source goes on to say that Jolie “misses the undeniable chemistry she shared with Brad” and has started “questioning everything” because her estranged husband “has been looking incredible lately.” From there, the outlet regurgitates the false narrative about Pitt and Jolie having a “secret meeting” at her house to to discuss their co-parenting relationship. As Gossip Cop has already noted, that get-together never happened. This new story, which makes it sound as if the actress is regretting her divorce, is entirely inaccurate. Us Weekly reported just last month that Jolie “can’t see past her anger” towards Pitt. Also last month, Jolie filed court documents accusing Pitt of not paying “meaningful” child support. And earlier this year, “Entertainment Tonight” reported that Pitt and Jolie can “barely be in the same room together.” The idea that she “misses” her estranged husband just isn’t true.Last month, People published an article detailing how Pitt and Jolie’s “divorce exploded” and listed many of the reasons why the two are still at odds. Their most recent spat over child support, which we mentioned above, involved the exes’ lawyers slinging accusations back and forth. After Jolie claimed her estranged husband wasn’t paying enough child support, his attorney called it “a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage.” The actress’s lawyer shot back by saying Pitt was attempting to “distract from the fact that he has not fully met his legal obligations to support the children.”Simply put, Pitt and Jolie’s divorce appears to remain acrimonious. The blog’s article is predicated on the absurd premise that the actress misses her estranged husband because she thinks he’s been looking more handsome lately. The narrative just isn’t realistic or logical.Celebrity Insider, which has a habit of copying and pasting false claims written by other outlets, frequently publishes lies about the estranged spouses. Earlier this month, Gossip Cop busted the website for making up a story about Jolie being “furious” with George and Amal Clooney for taking Pitt’s side in their split. That article was pure fiction, much like this latest one.
