Angelia Jolie discussed raising her 'resilient' children as she graced the cover of British Vogue's March issue. In the new interview, the actress, 45, admitted she doesn't view herself as 'a traditional stay-at-home mum' as she was 'was never very good at sitting still', but credited her six kids for 'helping' her motherhood journey. The screen star - who co-parents Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox with ex Brad Pitt - also reflected on 'healing' her family following a 'hard' few years, and 'hitting my stride' in her fifties. On juggling her career with looking after her kids, the Tom Raider icon - who posed for an accompanying shoot at her $25million (£18.2million) Los Angeles home - told the publication: 'Well, I was never very good at sitting still.'Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, travelling in the middle of the jungle somewhere. I didn't imagine it in that true, traditional sense.'I feel like I'm lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom. I'm managing through it because the children are quite resilient, and they're helping me, but I'm not good at it at all.'The humanitarian has been single ever since she separated from fellow thespian Brad, 57, in September 2016, following two years of marriage and a 12-year relationship. The former couple are said to be 'in a better place' after battling over finances and the custody of their children.Confessing she 'doesn't know' whether she's currently happy, Angelina insisted she has a positive outlook on the future. The Girl, Interrupted star shared: 'The past few years have been pretty hard. I've been focusing on healing our family. It's slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.'I'm looking forward to my fifties - I feel that I'm gonna hit my stride in my fifties. Though we were on the trampoline the other day, and the children said, ''No, Mom, don't do that. You'll hurt yourself.'' And I thought, ''God, isn't that funny?'''There was a day I was an action star, and now the kids are telling me to get off the trampoline because I'll hurt myself.'
On championing the 'spirit of the youth', the filmmaker added: 'Maybe it's just the young punk in me but I like the spirit of the youth. I believe they can see right and wrong with more clarity. 'I see a lot of older people making excuses for certain behaviours, and it tends to be the younger person who is quicker to say, ''But this is simply wrong, and we stand against it.'' I've wanted to remain that person.' The Unbroken star also touched on her role as the special envoy from the UN Refugee Agency.Angelina shared: 'I started in my early twenties, putting on my boots and backpack, and going out to try and figure out what the hell was going on in the world. 'I tried to give myself a broader education than I’d had at school. I grew up in a very empty place, in many ways, so had to go to find a wider understanding.'The activist went on to admit she believes the perception of refugees has 'worsened' over time, explaining: 'We speak as if refugees are a burden. But they’ve had to adapt. They have a different skill set, a different look in their eye. 'They’ve confronted their own humanity in such a profound way. They’ve stood up to oppression. We should honour their fight. Honour the people who’ve fled bombs and protected their kids.' Stressing the importance of teaching global citizenship to her kids, she added: 'They are from across the globe. When I see Mad in Cambodia, it’s his home. 'He is a Cambodian man, and at the same time, he is also an American citizen and a global citizen. But it’s not just important for him to go there, it’s important for his siblings to go there, too. 'We’ve been very blessed to have a family of different cultures and races. We are all learning from each other.'The Maleficent star first took on her humanitarian duties following her trip to Cambodia for Tomb Raider back in 2000. She visited the Asian country - where she met and subsequently adopted Maddox with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton - for a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) field mission. The TV and film star later travelled to Pakistan, where she donated $1 million (£821,980) in response to an emergency appeal. Angelina - who co-founded the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative nine years ago - has since taken a hands-on approach in promoting a number of causes, including education, women's rights and conservation.

Mixing history with Hollywood, the artwork’s provenance could hardly be more impressive. Sir Winston Churchill’s only painting during the Second World War, which he gave to US president Franklin D Roosevelt, has been put up for sale by its current owner Angelina Jolie. The Moroccan landscape, called Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque, is expected to fetch £1.5million to £2.5million at a Christie’s auction next month – and could set a new record for a work by the former prime minister. Churchill painted it in Marrakech after the Casablanca conference in 1943, where it was agreed by the Allied forces that only complete surrender by the Axis powers would be acceptable. He invited Roosevelt to join him in Marrakech the day after the conference to show him the views of the city and the light at sunset, which he was particularly passionate about. Churchill, a keen amateur artist who created more than 500 paintings, captured the scene for the US president as a memento of their excursion. It depicts the 12th century mosque in Marrakech at sunset with the Atlas mountains in the background. The artwork was sold by Roosevelt’s son Elliot after his death in 1945 and had several owners before Miss Jolie and her then partner Brad Pitt bought it in 2011. Nick Orchard, head of Christie’s modern British art department in London, said: ‘It is arguably the best painting by Winston Churchill due to the significance of the subject matter to him.’

Meghan Markle is, allegedly, upset with Queen Elizabeth for inviting Angelina Jolie out for tea.According to , Queen Elizabeth is changing her priorities now that Markle and Prince Harry are no longer considered as senior working royals.A source claimed that Her Majesty has always been impressed with Jolie because of her humanitarian efforts and charity work.“The queen is pivoting her priorities, especially now that she’s given up on Harry and Meghan doing anything of note for her, despite previously promising her they would take on youth engagements as their number one role,” the source said.According to the source, the queen has arranged a private meeting with Jolie in the United Kingdom. And there is, allegedly, a huge possibility that the Maleficent star will accept Her Majesty’s invitation once it’s safe for her to travel overseas.Upon learning about the queen’s plan to meet with Jolie, Markle, allegedly, became enraged. After all, she has been trying to set a meeting with the actress for a year but hasn’t been successful.“Meghan’s been suggesting lunch ever since she moved to Los Angeles, but her calls went unanswered,” the source said. However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It is unlikely for the queen to invite Jolie out for tea now that there’s a pandemic. The mom of six has always been very active with her humanitarian work and charities. So, if the queen wanted to meet with her, she would’ve already done so a long time ago.As for Markle, there’s no proof that she’s been trying to set a meeting with Jolie.Meanwhile, the queen also made headlines this week after the documentary that she banned 50 years ago was leaked online. The 1969 documentary Royal Family followed the life of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and their children.During a previous interview, the monarch explained why she didn’t like the documentary.“I never liked the idea of the Royal Family film. I always thought it was a rotten idea. The attention that had been brought on one ever since one was a child, you just didn’t want anymore. The last thing you needed was greater access,” Queen Elizabeth said.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2 Almost Happened. Here's Why The Sequel Got Turned Down

If you're a fan of this classic romantic comedy that boasts two seriously A-list stars, you've probably wondered why a sequel was never made... and now, you have your answer.Famous — or perhaps infamous — for its dramatic real-life romance between its two stars, director Doug Liman's film Mr. & Mrs. Smith stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as Jane and John, two highly trained assassins masquerading as a normal, suburban couple. Both bored with their humdrum lives, the Smiths are thrust into an unexpected adventure when they discover that not only are they both spies, but since they work for different agencies, they've actually been ordered to kill one another. Despite the fact that Pitt was married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston while he filmed the movie, he and Jolie famously struck up an on-set romance during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, with Pitt ultimately divorcing Aniston and publicly committing to Jolie to create the media sensation that earned the nickname "Brangelina." Though many people probably associate Mr. & Mrs. Smith with the real-life scandal that followed, the witty action comedy also stands in its own right, and fans have probably been curious about a sequel for years. However, according to Jolie herself in an interview conducted over a decade ago, Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2 just wasn't in the cards — and at this rate, the concept seems potentially impossible. Here's why Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2 didn't get made after the film's 2005 release, and why it probably wouldn't get made today. In a 2010 interview with Vanity Fair, Jolie opened up about her then-relationship with Pitt — the two divorced in 2016 — as well as their six adopted and biological children. When asked about the potential of a second Mr. & Mrs. Smith movie, Jolie demurred, saying the project was pretty unlikely."People have tried [to make it]," Jolie told Vanity Fair. "And it's strange: do we have kids in the movie? We've thought about that, but it becomes personal now that we actually have kids. And if we work on it, we pull from our own life, which is funny to us, but you feel strange sharing too much. We did ask somebody to look into Mr. & Mrs. to see if they could crack a sequel, but there wasn't anything original. It was just, Well, they're going to get married, or they've got kids, or they get separated. Never great."
At the time, however, Jolie did say she would love to work with Pitt again, but probably on a different project. "We've talked about it," the actress continued. "We'd have to figure out who's going to watch the kids, but it's really about finding the right thing, because we've looked. When you're a couple, there are certain things people don't want to see you do. It becomes too indulgent, too personal. I don't think people want to see people who are really together intimate on-screen. Maybe we have to play bad guys that try to kill each other, so it's just fun and aggressive, not dealing with some man-woman deal." Ultimately, the duo did appear on screen together again in the 2015 drama By the Sea, which Jolie directed and shot during the couple's honeymoon.Despite the fact that Mr. & Mrs. Smith was an undisputed box office success, earning $487 million worldwide, a sequel would be impossible today.Putting aside Jolie and Pitt's divorce — which obviously complicates whether or not the two would even portray a couple on screen again — Jolie, Pitt, and director Doug Liman have all been quite busy in the years since Mr. & Mrs. Smith's release. After earning Academy Award nominations for films like Moneyball and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Pitt earned his first ever acting Oscar in 2019 for the Quentin Tarantino epic Once Upon a Time in Hollywood..., marking his second collaboration with the director after 2009's Inglourious Basterds. Alongside his acting successes, Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, has produced Oscar winners like The Departed, 12 Years a Slave, and Moonlight. As for Jolie, aside from appearing in films like the Maleficent franchise, the actress has directed four other films besides By the Sea, including 2011's In the Land of Blood and Honey and 2014's Unbroken. She has also emerged as a leading humanitarian, working as a Special Envoy for the United Nations to help refugees and promote equal education opportunities, women's rights, and conservation across the world.Meanwhile, Liman's newest film, Locked Down — which was shot during the COVID-19 pandemic — has just hit HBO Max, and the director will reunite with his Edge of Tomorrow star Tom Cruise for a mysterious project that may be shot in space (with the help of Elon Musk). Between these three, Mr. & Mrs. Smith doesn't seem to be in the cards, based on schedules and Jolie and Pitt's split. If you want to revisit the original, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is available to rent on major streaming platforms.
