The actress reveals her DIY hair dye faux pas and the make-up she shares with her daughter. She's one of the most beautiful women in the world, an Oscar-winning actress, revered film director and mother of six, but Angelina Jolie hasn't always had the A-list beauty routine to match her celebrity status.Although her current mane of brunette hair and signature brooding red lip is total red carpet beauty goals, Jolie recently revealed that her approach to preening wasn't always so perfected. In fact, it sounds pretty crazy.Speaking to InStyle, the 42-year-old let slip that her past DIY hair dye attempted were a little more rough and ready than you might expect. ' I was a bit of a punk. Nowadays it's very popular to dye your hair blue, for example. In my day you bleached it and used a Sharpie [for colour].' Yup, Angelina Jolie just said she used to colour in her blonde hair with a marker pen to make it blue. That actually happened. We're feeling serious Girl, Interrupted vibes.Explaining her unusual method for home dyeing her hair Jolie told InStyle, 'I suppose my early memories were more as a creative person—and then early on as an actor. It's a mask; it's a part of creating a character.' Thankfully the humanitarian is passing on slightly more sensible beauty advice to her kids. When asked if she ever experimented with make-up with her friends when she was younger, the Maleficent star disclosed that she had never been that person, but she encourages daughter Zahara.'I buy a lot [of make-up], especially for Z [Zahara]. She went through a period of trying different things, but she's pretty natural. I remember she had a girlfriend over one night, and they said they were going to do dress-up and did I have any make-up? 'I gave them my make-up, but I wear one colour red, and I have black eyeliner and mascara—I have the most boring make-up kit. And my daughter and I are different shades of brown.' Jolie's solution to keeping her daughter's make-up game strong? 'I now have a backup kit in case anybody wants to play.' Now that's mum goals.

Angelina Jolie NOT Getting Married To “Husband Number Four,” Despite Report

Angelina Jolie is not getting married to a wealthy British philanthropist, despite a report claiming the actress is ready for “husband number four.” Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s completely false.Life & Style’s latest cover story claims Jolie has been secretly dating a mystery man for more than a year and she’s now headed down the aisle. A so-called “source” tells the magazine the actress is pushing to finalize her divorce from Brad Pitt so she can tie the knot with her alleged fiancé. “Angie’s so in love that she was the one to propose,” adds the supposed insider.Jolie is scheduled to begin filming Maleficent 2 next month in London, where her “fiancé” is said to live, so she’ll supposedly be spending her downtime planning the wedding. The questionable tipster further contends that the actress’s six children will be “heavily involved” in the ceremony, with each taking on a different role in the reception. As for how Pitt feels about his estranged wife getting remarried, the alleged insider says, “He will probably be left off the wedding guest list, but Brad’s told pals that Angie deserves happiness even if it’s not with him. He’s just thrilled about her getting ready to sign off on the divorce so that he can get on with his life as well.”As the story goes, George Clooney’s wife Amal introduced Jolie to her “British husband-to-be” during a visit to the U.K. in 2017. The “source” says the actress immediately fell in love with the English philanthropist over their shared passion for politics and helping refugees. “Angelina can’t wait to wed and says she’s never been this in sync with someone before,” adds the seemingly made-up source. “Her goal is to ultimately settle in London with him and the kids. She’s sure husband No. 4 will be her final husband.”
It should be noted, the tabloid’s “insider” purports to know just about every detail about Jolie’s relationship except for one important tidbit: the identity of this “millionaire British philanthropist.” The “source” claims to have the rundown on where and when Jolie met this man, every aspect of their wedding, where they plan to live, their shared interests and more. Are we really expected to believe the magazine knows all of these details, but not his name? Additionally, Gossip Cop already debunked a similar version of this phony narrative. Last November, we busted Life & Style’s sister publication, In Touch, for wrongly reporting Jolie was planning a secret wedding in Cambodia with a “British philanthropist.” Obviously, no such ceremony ever took place, and Jolie revealed this past January that she’s single and not interesting in dating anytime soon.Regardless of all the evidence proving the magazine’s latest cover story to be untrue, Gossip Cop once again checked in with a source close to Jolie, who dismissed the article as total “nonsense.” The actress isn’t in a relationship with a wealthy British man. Suffice to say, she’s not marrying a fictional character created by the tabloids.

Why The Original Tomb Raider Director Had Trouble Casting Angelina Jolie

Tomb Raider is only days away from returning to the big screen, this time with Alicia Vikander playing Lara Croft. Vikander inherited the role from Angelia Jolie, who first brought the character to life in 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and reprised the skilled archaeologist in 2003's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider -- The Cradle of Life. At the time, Jolie had made a name for herself through movies like Hackers, Girl, Interrupted and Gone in 60 Seconds, but when she auditioned for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, director Simon West had trouble convincing others that she was the right woman for the job due to her unique personality. West recalled: [She] had a great, dark reputation about her. She lived quite an alternative lifestyle and didn't hold back her words. She spoke her mind, and she had a notorious reputation. It was quite hard for me to get her through the approval process at the studio, because I wanted an actress who was going to bring something to the part, and she brought this great Angelina Jolie mythology with her as this dark, crazy, wicked woman with a very particular and interesting personality. I wanted that mythology of Angelina Jolie to fuse with Lara Croft. While Angelina Jolie is still a household Hollywood name, like many other actors, there was a time when she wasn't famous, so she faced an uphill battle scoring the Lara Croft role. As Simon West explained to EW, at the time Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was casting, there hadn't been an actress who'd carried her own action-adventure movie in a while, so Paramount Pictures was initially looking at more established performers. Some of the names thrown out by the studio included Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ashley Judd and Jennifer Lopez, but West only saw Jolie for the Lara Croft part. It undoubtedly helped that Jolie had won an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for her turn as Lisa Rowe in Girl, Interrupted, and but when combined with her natural personality, West knew Jolie was up to the task and subsequently altered Lara Croft and the movie's script to suit the actress' strengths.
While Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was met with mostly negative reviews (it ranks at 19% on Rotten Tomatoes), it performed decently at the box office, making over $274 million worldwide. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider -- The Cradle of Life's critical reception was a little better than its predecessor, and it made over $156 million worldwide, but when Angelina Jolie announced that she wouldn't play Lara Croft again, a second sequel was scrapped. More than a decade later, Tomb Raider is now being rebooted, and in contrast with the previous movies, this new entry will serve as an origin story for Alicia Vikander's Lara Croft.Angelina Jolie's time as Lara Croft has long since concluded, but you can see what Alicia Vikander does with the character when the Tomb Raider reboot hits theaters this Friday, March 16.

Angelina Jolie looked healthy and relaxed as she took her daughters shopping in Los Angeles at the weekend. The mother-of-six was seen with two of her three daughters - Vivienne and Zahara. The low key trio blended in with the rest of the Saturday shoppers as they stopped by a Starbucks for iced teas, which Angelina then carried.Meanwhile Zahara, 13, and nine-year-old Vivienne carried shopping bags, among them purchases from luxury card shop Papyrus, and wrapping store Paper Works.Casually dressed, the sisters walked side by side, chatting together.Their mother looked more smart, with the actress dressed in a chic oversized belted camel coat, and stiletto heeled black boots.Angelina's other children, 16-year-old Maddox, Pax, 14, Shiloh, 11, and Vivienne's twin Knox were not present for the outing in the Studio City area. The Tomb Raider star turned director and humanitarian, is currently single after splitting from Brad Pitt in September 2016.In a recent interview Angelina said she finds a 'real pleasure' in the fact she rarely gets any time to herself and wouldn't change things for the world.Asked how she relaxes, the 42-year-old told British glossy Hello: 'I really don't [relax]. I'm one of those people. It drives me nuts when people tell me to relax.'I think a lot of moms don't really rest. And somehow we find a real pleasure in that.'I mean, even if I try to take a bath, I'll end up with at least two of my kids in there with me, which is lovely. I wouldn't trade it at all.'When it comes to raising her children the By the Sea star believes the most important lesson she can teach them is to value others, as she thinks all the bad things in the world stem from selfishness and a lack of empathy. Asked what she teaches her children, she said: 'To value others. If you live life and walk around thinking of yourself and your own needs and desires then not only is it a selfish life, but it ends up being quite an unhappy life, I imagine. 'And that's where everything goes wrong,' she continued.'The wars and hostility, the ugliness and inhumanity in this world comes from this lack of being able to have real empathy for someone else.'If you can value others, I think things naturally balance out in your own life. When you don't live with ignorant perceptions and that smallness, you open up in a beautiful way.'Next year the busy actress/director/producer is set to reprise her role as dark fairy godmother Maleficent in the sequel to the 2014 Disney flick. Additionally, Jolie will be both a voice-actress and a producer in the animated feature The One and Only Ivan, currently in pre-production.
