(Her teenage sons with ex Brad Pitt, Maddox, 16, and Pax, 13, were not along for the trip to the cinema.) Giving the cold shoulder! Angelina Jolie wows in black strapless gown after dinner with family in chilly NYC

Temperatures were hovering below freezing in New York City on Friday night. But that apparently didn't bother Angelina Jolie, who didn't let the chilly weather dictate her outfit for the evening. The 42-year-old Maleficent star donned a stunning black strapless number for her night on the town with her kids. Of course the low-cut neck showed off her decolletage and shoulders, while the mostly form-fitting garment also emphasized her svelte hips.A pair of long black gloves added a touch of classic elegance. Her brunette locks were pushed off her forehead and back, while subtle blush, eye make-up and pale rose lipstick made the mother of six glow. While Angelina has been enjoying the single life lately, she still brought several dates with her to dinner at Cipriani in the form of four of her children.Son Pax, 14, looked every inch the dapper gentleman in a black suit and textured black and grey shirt. He even took his mother's arm at one point to ensure she kept her balance.Shiloh, aged 11, went even fancier, opting for a classic tuxedo including black bow tie. A pair of black sneakers provided a bit of contrast.Nine-year-old Knox looked quite carefree in his own black suit complete with patent leather loafers.Zahara, 12, looked to be having a wonderful night in a black top and trouser combination. The dinner may have been a bit of a celebration, as two of Angie's films, First They Killed My Father and The Breadwinner, both recently garnered Golden Globe nominations.Unfortunately those same films failed to gain any Oscar nominations.

Angelina Jolie takes kids Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne shopping at flea market.... after calling on NATO to do more to protect women in war zones

Angelina Jolie spent part of her Sunday browsing for bargains at the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena. The actress, 42, tried to hide her identity under a very large floppy black hat as she took three of her six children shopping. The star wore a long gray jersey coat over a black dress with lace at the bust.Angelina stepped out in slipper-style black flats and carried a large black leather tote over one shoulder. With their famous mom were Shiloh, 11, and twins Knox and Vivienne, nine.Shiloh wore a gray hoodie with the hood up over her short blonde hair. She added tan cargo pants and black flipflops and snaked on tortilla chips as she walked along.Knox was dressed in a black t-shirt and black sweatpants with black trainers. He carried a toy wooden crossbow that he'd found at one of the hundreds of stalls of merchandise.Vivienne had on camouflage pants and black shoes along with a baggy white cotton shirt that she left untucked. She also carried a purchase - a blue and green blanket dotted with dinosaurs.Their mom also carried purchases in a white plastic bag.Meanwhile, Angelina co-wrote an Op-Ed published in a British newspaper on Sunday calling for more to be done to protect women in war zones. She co-authored the article for The Guardian with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for The Guardian.'In our different roles we have seen how conflicts in which women’s bodies and rights are systematically abused last longer, cause deeper wounds and are much harder to resolve and overcome. Ending gender-based violence is therefore a vital issue of peace and security as well as of social justice,' the two wrote.'Despite being prohibited by international law, sexual violence continues to be employed as a tactic of war in numerous conflicts from Myanmar to Ukraine and Syria to Somalia. It includes mass rape, gang rape, sexual slavery, and rape as a form of torture, ethnic cleansing and terrorism. It accounts in large part for why it is often more dangerous to be a woman in a warzone today than it is to be a soldier.' They concluded: 'It is humanity’s shame that violence against women, whether in peaceful societies or during times of war, has been universally regarded as a lesser crime. There is finally hope that we can change this. We owe it to ourselves – men and women alike – and to future generations.'

Angelina Jolie Hired Set Designers To Transform House For Halloween Party?

Did Angelina Jolie really hire set designers to transform her house for a Halloween party? That’s the claim in one of this week’s new tabloids, which says the actress is going to great lengths to throw an epic bash for her six children. But Gossip Cop looked into the unlikely story and we’ve exclusively learned the truth. An article in the latest issue of Us Weekly says Jolie employed a crew of set and costume designers to give her Los Angeles mansion a spooky makeover. “The party is for the kids, but Angie is having some of her pals there too,” says the magazine’s supposed source, who further maintains the actress is organizing the celebration for her children as “a thank-you because she’s been traveling a lot and they’ve been so easygoing.” Of course, it seems very unlikely that Jolie would hire a big Hollywood production team to decorate her house for Halloween, so Gossip Cop was hesitant to believe this story. Our doubts were confirmed after checking in with a source close to the actress, who exclusively assures us it’s simply “not true.” In fact, Jolie and her kids were spotted at a Halloween store in Los Angeles earlier this month picking out their own costumes and decorations. The actress also went shopping at a separate costume shop earlier that week. Clearly, Jolie is handling the festivities on her own. It’s worth noting that Us Weekly is not a reliable outlet when it comes to accurately reporting about the actress. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in August for falsely claiming Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce was off. We also previously corrected the tabloid for wrongly asserting Jolie was going to be teaching at Georgetown University. This latest article about the actress hiring professionals to redesign her home for Halloween is similarly untrue.
