           The actress reveals her DIY hair dye faux pas and the make-up she shares with her daughter.She's one of the most beautiful women in the world, an Oscar-winning actress, revered film director and mother of six, but Angelina Jolie hasn't always had the A-list beauty routine to match her celebrity status.Although her current mane of brunette hair and signature brooding red lip is total red carpet beauty goals, Jolie recently revealed that her approach to preening wasn't always so perfected. In fact, it sounds pretty crazy.Speaking to InStyle, the 42-year-old let slip that her past DIY hair dye attempted were a little more rough and ready than you might expect. ' I was a bit of a punk. Nowadays it's very popular to dye your hair blue, for example. In my day you bleached it and used a Sharpie [for colour].' Yup, Angelina Jolie just said she used to colour in her blonde hair with a marker pen to make it blue. That actually happened.We're feeling serious Girl, Interrupted vibes.Explaining her unusual method for home dyeing her hair Jolie told InStyle, 'I suppose my early memories were more as a creative person—and then early on as an actor. It's a mask; it's a part of creating a character.' Thankfully the humanitarian is passing on slightly more sensible beauty advice to her kids. When asked if she ever experimented with make-up with her friends when she was younger, the Maleficent star disclosed that she had never been that person, but she encourages daughter Zahara.'I buy a lot [of make-up], especially for Z [Zahara]. She went through a period of trying different things, but she's pretty natural. I remember she had a girlfriend over one night, and they said they were going to do dress-up and did I have any make-up? 'I gave them my make-up, but I wear one colour red, and I have black eyeliner and mascara—I have the most boring make-up kit. And my daughter and I are different shades of brown.' Jolie's solution to keeping her daughter's make-up game strong? 'I now have a backup kit in case anybody wants to play.' Now that's mum goals.
