Walt Disney Pictures has released a new featurette for their upcoming fantasy sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, highlighting the mother-daughter bond between our titular evil protagonist and Aurora. Set to debut on October 18, you can check out the video below along with the newly released Dolby Cinema poster.Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.Oscar and three-time Golden Globe winner Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted, Wanted) and Elle Fanning (The Beguiled, Super 8) reprise their roles as the dark fairy Maleficent and Princess Aurora, respectively, two characters from the studio’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty, whose untold story was previously brought to life on screen in 2014’s Maleficent.Michelle Pfeiffer (Murder on the Orient Express, Ant-Man and the Wasp), the Golden Globe Award-winning, Emmy nominated and three-time Academy Award-nominated actress joins the cast as Queen Ingrith. Angelina Jolie was pictured for the first time on the set of new Marvel movie Eternals on Friday as she took on the role of Thena, a member of the superhero group. She looked worlds apart from her usual self as she wore a flowing blonde wig and white dress to wade out into a lake in England to scatter some ashes in ethereal scenes.Angelina, 44, is set to join Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Scarlett Johansson and Don Lee in The Eternals, which is due out in November 2020.At the panel dedicated to Marvel during San Diego Comic Con, Angelina said: 'I’m so excited to be here! I think what it means to be a part of the MCU, what it means to be an Eternal, what it means to be in this family. 'We’ve all read the script and we know what the task is and so we are going to work very, very hard,' she added, according to JustJared. Fellow cast-member Scarlett is set to reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, for a spin-off prequel film after her character met her untimely end in Avengers: Endgame.She previously gushed that it's 'very exciting' to have Angelina Jolie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Rachel, 34, shared her delight over news that the Angelina will appear in The Eternals with E! News on Sunday, and said 'it's about time' there were more female stars in the sprawling franchise.Also discussing Salma Hayek and Rachel Weisz's casting in the MCU, as well as Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman's roles, she said: 'It was amazing. 'I mean, there’s a lot of women up there that I hugely admire... It’s bananas. 'I think it’s very exciting. I think it grounds the presence of the MCU in a way. It’s very exciting to see such a diverse group of people. It’s awesome. And it’s about time.' Angelina has had a busy few weeks as in the midst of filming Eternals she is about to kick off the promotional trail for the Maleficent sequel Mistress Of Evil.The acclaimed actress will reprise her role as the evil fairy for the Disney fantasy epic, which will also star Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Fanning and Chiwetel Ejiofor.Following the release of Endgame in May, Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced the next phase of movies at San Diego Comic Con in July.Along with Black Widow and The Eternals, a third Thor film titled Love and Thunder is set for release in November 2021, as well as the sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

How Angelina Jolie Has Been Training for Marvel's Eternals

Marvel’s Eternals has a lot of fans curious since they are relatively obscure characters and were actually killed in the comics not too long ago, likely to make room for a relaunch. The movie will have a big cast, including Hollywood A-lister Angeline Jolie, who will be playing Thena. Since this is a Marvel movie, Jolie is getting in shape since she knows that there will be a need for her to get physical, even with stunt doubles.Funnily enough, talking with OK! Magazine (via Metro), Jolie revealed that she has attended some of her children’s physical activity classes to get in shape. No joke, the Maleficent star stated that she has gone to her son’s weapon classes and daughter’s karate lessons, even taking part in them. This is interesting, to say the least, though she has probably been going to the gym as well. “My son Knox does some weapons classes and Viv does karate so I’ve been jumping into all their classes. I’m the mum that keeps showing up. It’s been fun and going to the gym together is really good.” Some of us might find this cute, cringe-inducing, or simply misleading, but it seems that Jolie is excited to join the MCU. Admittedly, Thena is far from the most popular character in Marvel history but you can bet that Jolie will make her memorable, especially with a little CGI magic. Personally, I’m excited to see what she brings to the table. Jolie has always been a great actress, despite what the Maleficent movies have shown, and she adds a lot of presence to this relatively unknown Marvel movie. Then again, Marvel Studios is huge now and they can make any comic book movie now.Marvel’s Eternals will be coming out next year, on November 6, 2020.

With Disney‘s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil hitting theaters on October 18, Walt Disney Studios has released a behind-the-scenes video of Angelina Jolie transforming into her character Maleficent. Edited in black and white, the short time-lapse clip features the actress surrounded by a team of makeup artists and hairstylists turning her into the evil queen. With Disney's ultimate fan event currently underway in Anaheim, CA, dozens of big name celebrities have stepped out to discuss and support their upcoming projects with the network. Among them was Angelina Jolie, 44, who turned heads at the D23 Expo on Saturday while wearing a black dress with a dramatic slit up one leg.The iconic actress attended the party to dish on some details about her upcoming new film with Disney, Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil.The esteemed actress looked not a day over 30 as she rocked a black cocktail dress with pointed heels on the red carpet.Her dress showed off ample leg with a slit up one side and turned sheer at the top to show a tasteful hint of skin.Jolie kept her makeup simple with a natural glow and gloss and left her hair straightened and down.With the sequel to Disney's highly popular Maleficent set to premiere in October, the busy mom got animated while talking with reporters about what to expect.The movie will feature Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, along with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michelle Pfeiffer.Angelina will reprise her role as Maleficent, the forest kingdom's fierce protector who turns evil after a terrible betrayal. Being the entertainer that she is, when Jolie first landed the role, she used her scary costume to prank her kids.'I actually pranked my kids when I first did Maleficent and I scared one of my kids! And I’ll never do that again. I won’t say which kid it was but, I thought, when I had first put it on and they had never seen it, and I thought it would be fun to kind of, you know. But when you’re little, you don’t realize what mom means, to a kid,' she recalled.'I think that’s why Maleficent’s so scary, is because she’s a woman,' she continued. 'So it’s almost like a mom. Mom means so much and when mom transforms into something that’s like a demon, it had a really bad effect and I had to kind of peel it off and take everything off in front of my kids to say, ‘It’s me! Angelina's appearance at the big event comes after she was seen arriving in Seoul, South Korea, earlier in the week, dropping her eldest, Maddox, off at college. The star told college students that she was 'trying not to cry' as she left him.While at the expo, Jolie also discussed her son's big life event, saying she was 'excited.''It’s hard but actually really exciting! He’s ready and he’s so smart. And I’m so proud of him. And I’m excited. I’m excited about his choices,' the brunette raved.The teen, who Angelina adopted from Cambodia in 2002 with and her then partner Pitt legally adopted four years later, is very close to his mom, according to a Us Weekly source.However, the 55-year-old actor's relationship with Maddox has been strained since they reportedly got into a heated altercation three years ago on a private plane the family were traveling in.After marrying in 2014, Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016, shortly after the altercation. A judge only declared the actress 'legally single' in April 2019. Maddox reportedly doesn't think of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star as his father.Pitt and Jolie share six kids together total, including Maddox: Shiloh, 13, Zahara, 14, Pax, 15, Vivienne, 11, and Pax, 11.On top of the new Maleficent movie, the bombshell will also star in The One And Ony Ivan, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Come Away and Eternals.
