Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will soon make a comeback on the big screen with "Jazbaa", but it has been learnt that the former Miss World was not director Sanjay Gupta's first choice for the film.During a Twitter chat with The Times of India on Thursday, Gupta stated that he had considered Angelina Jolie for the role before finalising Aishwarya. The director was asked if he had considered any other actress for "Jazbaa", to which he replied, "#AngelinaJolie, but when I got Ash on board I didn't bother with her #SanjayGuptaChat @TOIEntertain (sic)." However, in reply to another question, Gupta suggested that Aishwarya was best suited for the role. When asked the reason behind casting the "Jodhaa Akbar" actress, the director said, "Why not Aishwarya for #Jazbaa. Wanted the best, went for the best @TOIEntertain #SanjayGuptaChat (sic)." Earlier, during an interview with The Indian Express, Gupta had stated that Aishwarya was not on his mind initially, but he roped her in after having a discussion with Abhishek Bachchan."I didn't think of Aishwarya originally, but as Abhishek and I were chatting, I casually told him about the idea of a film that demanded a star-female actor who was the hero of the story. When he bounced off the idea with her, she was game," the daily quoted the "Jazbaa" director as saying.Although Gupta stated that his first choice was Angelina Jolie, it is possible that he was being sarcastic. The movie, "Jazbaa", features Irrfan Khan along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and is slated to be released on 9 October.

"Make sure your name is on the list so you can vote on election day"Angelina Jolie Pitt has appeared in a voter awareness campaign video urging Burma’s citizens to vote in upcoming historic elections. In the video, released by the Burmese government’s electoral body, the Hollywood actress tells the people of Burma, officially now known as Myanmar, to check voter lists and ensure they and their families are registered to vote, reports local independent news outlet Democratic Voice of Burma.“I know from my visit how important these elections are. I want to urge you to exercise your right to vote and be counted on Nov. 8,” the 40-year-old said in the video posted to the Union Electoral Commission’s Facebook page. “Don’t get left behind. Be a part of this historic moment. Go out and check the voter lists in your communities, make sure your name is on the list so you can vote on election day.” Jolie serves as the U.N. refugee agency’s special envoy and visited Burma in July, where she spoke with displaced families in the country’s troubled northern Kachin state and met President Thein Sein and democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi.Some 32 million people (out of a population of just over 50 million) are considered eligible to vote in the country’s first general elections since 2010, when a nominally civilian government ended a half-century of oppressive military rule. However, concerns remain that a quarter of parliamentary seats are still reserved for the armed forces as well as the systematic disenfranchisement of certain minority groups.

Looks like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s brood is about to get even bigger! An insider tells Radar, the actor, 51, and actress, 40, have begun the process of adopting a Syrian orphan she met during a trip to the war-torn country while serving as the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees. “On one solo trip, Angelina met three Syrian orphan siblings,” the insider alleges. “Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers, and their home was also bombed. And they lost their mother in the bombing.” While Angelina allegedly wanted to adopt all three brothers, Brad reportedly said no — explaining it would be too much with their six other children, 14-year-old Maddox, 11-year-old Pax, 10-year-old Zahara, nine-year-old Shiloh and seven-year-old twins Pax and Vivienne. The source explains, “Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their six other kids. But Angie didn’t put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn’t work.” While it’s unclear the age of the young boy they allegedly plan on adopting — the insider says the middle child “could speak some English,” while the oldest “was very quiet, but never left Angie’s side during the visit” — the process of adding another son to their famous family has reportedly begun. That said, it could be a long time until the child moves in with Brad and Angie.“It has been a very long process to adopt the Syrian orphan,” the source explains.“The red tape has been almost impossible at times. It could take at least another four to five months before the child is brought to the United States.”

Maleficent 2, a sequel to the 2014 hit, is currently in the works under Disney and Angelina Jolie has not been confirmed to return yet. Without spilling details about the plot, Don Hahn said that sequels should be told as boldly as the previous film.Since its announcement, details about the upcoming Maleficent sequel have been scarce, but as reported by Mirror, Linda Woolverton is currently working on the script for the upcoming film. Woolverton also wrote the first film, and is set to return with Joe Roth who agreed to return as producer. However, the biggest question of whether fans can expect Jolie's return in the sequel remains unanswered. Although Jolie previously revealed not being asked about the sequel yet, many are concerned given her refusal to work on sequels of her works like Salt and Wanted. Moreover, as reported by Cheat Sheet, Jolie also recently revealed about stepping out of acting soon in order to focus more on her duties behind the camera as a director and producer. However, she also added that she is set to finish a couple of films that she's set to star in before stepping away. Although Jolie did not specify the films she is set to work on, Maleficent could be on the list, given previous reports that Woolverton is keeping her up to date with the latest developments in the sequel. The upcoming film's plot is currently under wraps, and clues pertaining to the sequel are bleak. When asked about the sequel, Don Hahn said to Collider that its too early to talk about the subject, although he did say that any sequel for any film should be as bold as the first film."I think that unexpected leap of faith, when you go into another medium, or a sequel, or another story with those same characters, you have to be as bold about telling those stories as you were on the first one.", Hahn said.Maleficent (2014) was based on the story of the antagonist of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, and eventually became a blockbuster success grossing $760 million globally from its $180 million budget during its release. No actors have been confirmed to return yet but more details about the Maleficent 2 are expected to be revealed as production gets some progress in the coming months.
