         Melissa McCarthy has spoken about the women who mean the most to her.Melissa McCarthy is in awe of the way Angelina Jolie refused to let her "pampered life" impact her.Angelina raises six children with her husband Brad Pitt, is a movie director as well as an actress and has also done a lot of work for women's rights. This is why Melissa finds her so impressive, as many others in her position would sit back and relax in their mansions."Here's someone who could lead a very pampered life, yet has chosen to focus on children and people who don't have a voice," Melissa told Britain's Glamour magazine. "She doesn't have to do it; she just chooses to live the right way."There are a number of women who the actress looks up to, with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres another one. Ellen is married to Portia De Rossi and Melissa is impressed with how open she's been about her love life."When she chose to come out on her sitcom, it damaged her career to the point that she didn't think she would get it back," she recalled. "But she did, and she paved the way for women to be able to say, 'This is who I am, and I don't have to act any other way.'"Singer Bjork is another person the actress loves, so much so that she was nicknamed Sugarcube when she was younger - in honour of the Icelandic singer's old band - because she looked and dressed like her.Perhaps Melissa's biggest source of inspiration is her mother Sandy though."When I told her the crazy things I wanted to do, Sandy looked at me and said, 'Why wouldn't' you?'" she recalled. "I've asked her, 'Why in the world didn't you tell me to, like, try something else?' She goes, 'You wanted to do it, so I just told you to do it.' I got hit with the lucky stick, because that's the person who encouraged me."
