Angelina Jolie Talks About Teaming Up With Ireland's Cartoon Saloon

Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie has spoken about how "proud" she is to have worked on a new major animated feature 'The Breadwinner' with the Irish company, describing it as a "beautiful film with this timely and very important subject matter." The first teaser trailer for Cartoon Saloon’s new feature 'The Breadwinner', which Angelina Jolie worked on as an executive producer, has just been uploaded onto social media sites.Based on the award-winning, best-selling young adult novel by Deborah Ellis, 'The Breadwinner' is directed by Cartoon Saloon’s Nora Twomey, co-director of 'The Secret of Kells' alongside Tomm Moore. The film is about Parvana, a young girl living under the Taliban regime, who cuts her hair and disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family after her father is imprisoned.Of her involvement with the film due out later this year, Jolie has this to tell us, “I am proud to be a part of this beautiful film with this timely and very important subject matter. Millions of girls around the world have to grow up before their time, working to provide for their families at a very young age and in difficult circumstances."They have the strength to do what no one should ask little girls to do. I hope this film is able to bring this discussion to a broader audience."She adds, "As much as it is an important and very meaningful film, it also stands on its own as a great piece of art. Director Nora Twomey and her team have done something very special. The new feature is produced by Aircraft Pictures’ Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen, Cartoon Saloon’s Tomm Moore and Paul Young, and Melusine Productions’ Stephan Roelants. It is executive produced by Jolie Pas Production’s Angelina Jolie, Jehane Noujaim, Karim Amer, Mimi Polk Gitlin, Jon Levin, Regina K. Scully, Frank Falcone, Mary Bredin with Cartoon Saloon’s Gerry Shirren and GKIDS’ Eric Beckman and David Jesteadt. Throughout her career, Winter has combatted negative comments from critics who body and slut shame her for what seems like all of her sartorial choices. Recently, Winter received criticism for donning a golden cocktail dress at a panel and screening of Modern Family, to which she responded:“Why the fuck does anyone care that I didn’t dress casual like everyone else for the panel? Why do I have to be like everyone else? Why can’t people just let other people feel good about themselves and do what they want?" And Angelina Jolie spent part of her evening with one of her six children - her son Pax.The actress, 41, and her teenage son, 13, were spotted at the restaurant Beauty & Essex in Los Angeles on Sunday.Angelina looked chic and elegant in an LBD with lace sleeves as she stepped out beside her casually dressed son, Pax. The By The Sea actress carried a petite black quilted purse and added a pop of color with her bold red manicure.Her son, meanwhile, kept things casual in a black jacket, flannel shirt, and top.Pax has five other siblings: Maddox, 15, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.Jolie had adopted Maddox from a Cambodian orphanage in 2002, when he was less than a year old and she was married to Billy Bob Thornton.Her first divorce was finalized in 2003, and in mid-2005, she adopted Zahara from an orphanage in Addis Ababa. Angelina and Brad welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh, in 2006 and she adopted Pax from Vietnam in 2007.Brad has adopted Zahara, Pax, and Maddox. In 2008, Angelina gave birth to the couple's biological twins, Knox and Vivienne, in the south of France. Six years later, Angelina and Brad married, but after two years of matrimony and 12 as a couple, the pair made the shock decision to split last autumn.

Angelina Jolie is keeping her family close — and that includes having dinner with her formerly estranged father Jon Voight.On Wednesday, the two were spotted together at a sushi restaurant in Beverly Hills, along with four of her children with Brad Pitt: Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, according to E! News.In September, the 78-year-old actor told Inside Edition that he was “concerned” for his daughter and grandchildren in wake of the news that Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt.“It’s very sad,” he said. “Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this.” Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in her filing, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, and requested sole physical custody of the couple’s six children. She has also asked that Pitt be granted visitation rights.Voight and the Maleficent actress reconciled after years of estrangement in 2010, after Pitt, 53, convinced the actress to mend fences.The actor, who attended the 2010 premiere of Jolie’s movie Salt along with his son, told PEOPLE in 2010 that distance didn’t put a damper on the relationship he was building with his daughter and grandchildren.“It’s hard for me to be away from my grandkids, yes, but I’ll stay in touch with them,” Voight said.”Thank God we have this technology, and you know, we use all of it.” In 2011, Voight was spotted spending time Shiloh, Zahara, and Pax in London, and eating ice cream.
