Angelina Jolie once hired a hitman to plan her own murder as she battled suicidal thoughts in the past. The Oscar-winning actress, 49, who is still embroiled in a divorce battle with Brad Pitt, 60, first revealed back in 2001 that she spoke to an assassin during a 'rather bleak' time in her life aged 22. She told IMDB: 'This is going to sound insane but there was a time I was going to hire somebody to kill me.' She said she would rather have been murdered than take her own life as the death would have been easier for her loved ones to deal with. Opening up further in a 2003 The Face interview she said of locating a hitman: 'They’re not that hard to find in New York. As insane as it sounds, I think a lot of people consider suicide when they’re young.'I was very aware that so many people around me, like my mother, would feel as though they didn’t give enough or do enough, if I’d taken my own life. So my solution to that was if someone else had taken my life – like in a ‘robbery’ – then it would be murder and it wouldn’t be that anyone would feel they’d let me down. However the hitman had a surprising response, with Jolie saying: 'He was a decent enough person and asked if I could think about it and call him again in two months. Something changed in my life and I figured I’d stick it out. In 2011 Jolie alluded to a dark past as she told 60 Minutes: 'I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young, so I’m very lucky. There are other artists and people who didn’t survive certain things. 'I think people can imagine that I did the most dangerous and I did the worst,' she said at the time.'For many reasons I shouldn’t be here. You think of those too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken too far.' Talking about her younger years in a conversation with Time, Jolie said motherhood to her six children had enabled her to grow as a person. She said: 'I was not a very stable youth. In fact, I never thought I could be anyone’s mom. I remember the decision to become a parent. It wasn’t hard to love. What was hard was knowing that from now on I needed to be the one to make sure everything was OK.The star is now one of Hollywood's most iconic actresses, winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar aged 25 for her role in 1999 film, Girl, Interrupted. Talking to The Times in November 2021, she said: "I've had a very blessed life, but I've had my own challenges. I've had PTSD."You often feel that feeling of being broken and wondering what you're capable of, and being concerned you're not able to be enough to protect and care for those you love.'
Pitt and Jolie began dating publicly shortly after he and his then-wife Jennifer Aniston announced their divorce in 2005. The Mr. And Mrs. Smith costars remained unmarried for years despite having multiple adopted and biological children together, but they got engaged in 2012 and finally tied the knot in 2014.However, it was only around two years later when the Maleficent actress filed for divorce in 2016. She and Pitt were declared legally single in 2019.Pitt is now dating Ines de Ramon, 35. This comes amid recent claims that Pitt and Jolie's divorce - which has now dragged on for eight years - is still ongoing as neither of the stars can 'let it go.A source told People 'their disagreements took over' in the relationship, adding that things 'turned nasty and it was not a good situation for anyone.''All the bitterness is partly why the divorce has dragged on for so many years. Neither will let it go. You’d think they would be over it and just settle.' A separate insider said: 'Both of them were having issues with each other. The differences added up over time. It's really sad for the children, but also the parents. Divorce, especially one so high-profile, can be challenging for the whole family.'They both care. They both care about the children.'The couple's eldest child Shiloh Jolie is moving ahead with her petition to legally drop the actor's surname - taking out a newspaper ad in The LA Times.Shiloh, who hired and paid for her own lawyer when she filed to drop the Pitt name on her 18th birthday in May, filed to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, per the newspaper notice obtained by TMZ.The ad is a standard step before the court will approve a name change. The notice also states anyone who has objections to the petition should show up in court later this month. A source close to the matter told Dailymail.com last month: ‘Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself, so Angie doesn’t know and can’t speak for it. Angelina Jolie's father has poured fuel on the fire of their family feud - marking a return to hostilities after tensions appeared to have cooled off.Jon Voight, 85, claimed his daughter's views on the Israel-Hamas war have been 'influenced by anti-Semitic people' during a fiery interview with Variety.'She has been exposed to propaganda,' right-wing pro-Israel firebrand Voight said. 'She's been influenced by anti-Semitic people.'Angie has a connection to the U.N., and she's enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees.' Although the father-daughter duo have had moments of reconciliation throughout their strained relationship, they have also experienced many turbulent moments that have led to them becoming estranged. But Voight's latest incendiary comment came less than a month after he said he was 'proud' of Jolie and his granddaughter Vivienne after they stole the spotlight at the 2024 Tony Awards with their remarkable victory. The mother-daughter duo produced the musical The Outsiders, which won four trophies, including the top honor of Best Musical. 'I'm very proud of Vivienne,' Oscar winner Voight, 85, told TMZ afterward. 'I'm really proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be.'Angelina, 49, and her ex Brad Pitt, 60, share six children together: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15. 'I'm sure Angie contributed with the actors and Angie's a great director,' Voight continued to gush over the Maleficent star.Earlier this year, Pitt experienced an 'awkward run-in' with his former in-laws while attending a small gallery exhibition in Beverly Hills amid his divorce from Jolie. While on a date night with his new girlfriend Ines de Ramon, the two-time Oscar winner, 60, bumped into his ex-wife's father, Jon Voight, and older brother James Haven. The chance encounter occurred as they browsed through the Gagosian Gallery for an exhibition by his Moneyball director, Bennett Miller.
Showbiz411 was first to break the news as the outlet shared: 'Pitt and Voight actually hugged and spoke to each other.'An eyewitness told The Sun: 'Plenty of people noticed how awkward it was that Brad was in the same room as Ange's family, and it's not a big space.'Voight's relationship with his own daughter has arguably been even less cordial.
They were in contact briefly during the filming of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001, but Jolie reportedly severed ties again with her famous father in the early 2000s.'We don't really speak that much anymore,' the Changeling star told Vogue in 2002, shortly after starring in the Lara Croft film. And Voight's Variety comment wasn't the first time he has openly slammed Jolie's stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict. In the aftermath of October 7, Voight slammed Jolie for her anti-Israel posts, branding them as 'lies' and saying 'the Israeli army must protect thy soil.''I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God's honor, God's truths,' he said in an Instagram video posted early November.Jolie is formerly a special envoy of the UN High Commission for Refugees. She accused Israel of 'deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine and humanitarian aid' in violation of the international law.In response, Voight said he was 'disappointed' that his daughter did not understand that Hamas' objective was 'to annihilate the land of the Jews.''This is about destroying the history of God's land, the Holy Land, the land of the Jews, This is justice for God's children of the holy land,' Voight continued.'The Israeli army must protect thy soil, thy people. This is war. It's not going to be what the left thinks, it can't be civil now.'Israel was attacked by inhuman terror on innocent babies, mothers, fathers, grandparents,' Voight noted.'You fools call Israel the problem, you should look at yourself and ask who am I? What am I? And ask God if am I learning the truth, or am I being lied to and following everyone else? The ones who understand truth see the lie.'
'These animals want to wipe out Jews, Christians,' he went on. 'They see that th Palestinians have not been neglected of finance. They have been given huge infusions of money, that they didn't share with the people. They made weapons instead, for their rage.'The people of Israel care for people. They love and cherish. Something these animals don't understand. Justice will prevail.'Voight called for Jolie to reassess her opinion on Israel's role in the war: 'Hamas and this deceit of their ruling is destroying their own people,' he added. He also hailed the 'great heroism' of Jewish people in the face of a series of tragedies throughout history, from the Holocaust to the recent 'Hamas Holocaust.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh's attorney has made a new statement about her 'significant decision' to drop her father's last name. The 18-year-old — who is one of the former couple's six kids — filed for the name change on her birthday this year, May 27. It was publicly announced with a legal notice in the Los Angeles Times.Regarding the public name change, in a statement on behalf of the teen, Shiloh's lawyer, Peter Levine, shared that she 'made an independent and significant decision following painful events,' adding that she was 'merely following legal process' when publishing the information.'Shiloh Jolie did not take out an "ad" announcing any name change, and any press reporting that is inaccurate,' Levine clarified, per People.'As Shiloh's attorney, I am required to publish a legal notice because the law in California requires that of anyone who wants to change their name. That legal notice was published in the Los Angeles Times, as is required.'In addition to Shiloh, the exes share sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, daughter Zahara, 19, and fraternal twins Vivienne and Knox, 16.Zahara and Vivienne have also dropped Pitt from their monikers, though it's unclear if Vivienne has made the change legally.Pitt has 'virtually no contact' with his older children according to a recent report. One month after Shiloh filed to drop his last name, a source revealed to People that Pitt's relationship with his older kids remains strained.'He has virtually no contact with the adult kids. His engagement with the younger kids is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule,' the insider shared.Angelina filed for divorce from the actor in 2019 after five years of marriage. The union ended on a contentious note and their children appear to have taken sides. The two filmmakers have been locked in a bitter battle over their French vineyard and home after the Tomb Raider star sold her $64 million stake to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021. They later entered into an acrimonious back-and-forth over NDA's, which have become a key point in their fight. Jolie is now asking Pitt to 'end the fighting' and drop the lawsuit against her to allow their family to 'heal.'But sources told DailyMail.com that the Fight Club star 'has no intention' of dropping it, alleging that Jolie only made the plea after realizing that she does not have as strong a case as she previously thought.'Brad is not going to drop this lawsuit – why would he? This was a very standard business dispute but unfortunately, Angelina has consistently introduced personal elements that are meant for a divorce court,' a person close to the situation revealed.

Brad Pitt REFUSES to drop lawsuit against Angelina Jolie after she 'painted herself as a peacemaker' in desperate bid to have him end bitter legal battle over Chateau Miraval

Brad Pitt will not drop his lawsuit against ex-wife Angelina Jolie after she tried to paint herself as a ‘victim’ in a desperate bid to get him to end their bitter legal battle over Chateau Miraval, insiders have claimed. Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 49, have been embroiled in a dispute over their co-ownership of the idyllic French winery, which they purchased in 2008, with the actor suing his ex-wife for selling her half without his consent for $67 million in October 2021. They later entered into an acrimonious mudslinging over NDA's, which have become a key battleground in their fight.Jolie is now asking Pitt to 'end the fighting' and drop the lawsuit against her to allow their family to 'heal.' But sources have exclusively told DailyMail.com that the Fight Club star 'has no intention' of dropping it - alleging that Jolie only made the plea after realizing that she does not have as strong a case as she previously thought. ‘Brad is not going to drop this lawsuit – why would he? This was a very standard business dispute but unfortunately, Angelina has consistently introduced personal elements that are meant for a divorce court,' an insider said. ‘Angelina is asking him to put an end to the fighting as if she is a peacemaker. This is nothing more than to paint herself as the victim. This is not a fight. This is a business dispute over the sale of property that was ultimately going to be for their kids. It was their inheritance, and she knows this. ‘She is realizing that she does not have a strong case anymore and she also knows that she may likely have to shell out the money by order of the courts. ‘Bringing very personal issues into a business lawsuit is backfiring on her. It has exposed the weaknesses in her case and has complicated matters for both parties. She didn’t need to do this.’ A separate source close to the matter refuted claims it is a 'simple business dispute,' and added: 'Pitt is the one suing Angelina yet he somehow thinks he can say she’s fighting him. She’s the one out there saying they should focus on healing their family and he should drop his relentless attacks on her, but he’s refusing. 'Suing her for 67 million dollars because she refused to sign an NDA covering up his abuse is not a “simple business dispute”. 'All Angelina wants is peace, but he is determined to continue fighting her and blaming everyone but himself for the situation he’s now in.'
The estranged couple, who met in 2004 while filming Mr. And Mrs. Smith before tying the knot in 2014, share six children together: sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 16, and daughters Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne, 16. They filed for divorce in September 2016.Pitt accused Jolie of breaching their purchase agreement to not sell to a third party without offering the other the right of first refusal when she sold her 50 per cent stake in Chateau Miraval to Russian oligarch, Yuri Shefler, in 2021.The actor, who is now dating model Ines de Ramon, requested the sale be made void and sought monetary damages and legal fees, but it went through on October 5, 2021. When the then couple bought the 1200 acre winemaking enterprise and estate, Pitt took a 60 per cent stake while Jolie took 40 per cent.Pitt poured millions into the estate, riding the rosé wave, and expanding the business in an effort that saw sales grow 300 percent.Soon the estate they purchased for an estimated $60million was worth closer to $164million.By the time of their wedding, Jolie had 'stopped investing,' according to previously filed court records – something that she has denied.Still, Pitt transferred 10 percent of his share to her by way of a wedding gift in December 2013 'for the sum of 1Euro [never paid]' so that by the time of their marriage in August 2014, they were 50/50 equal partners. Jolie claims she backed out of their agreement because Pitt asked her to sign an NDA as part of their business deal, which allegedly would prevent her from speaking out about the abuse allegations, including the September 2016 incident onboard the private jet. Her team described this as an 'unconscionable' attempt by her ex-partner to 'control her' after their split.A source close to Pitt, later told People: 'Brad requested a mutual NDA and non-disparagement strictly related to Miraval over concerns around sensitive financial information and protecting the brand, which is standard with these types of transactions.' His legal team claimed that Jolie 'weaponized' NDAs, and asked for Pitt to sign a broader NDA just six months later as part of their divorce settlement talks. In a ruling made public back in May, Judge Lia Martin ordered the actress to produce all NDAs she proposed, or that were proposed to her by others, regardless of whether they were finalized or agreed.Earlier this week Jolie's lawyer, Paul Murphy, said: 'When Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong.'
Recent documents filed on behalf of Pitt in objection to Jolie's latest request list the pieces of evidence she would obtain. These include 'any therapy in which [he] voluntarily agreed to engage from September 14, 2016 through December 31, 2018, his consumption of alcohol from 2008 through 2021, his random drug and alcohol testing following the flight, communications with various government agencies about the flight, and confidential filings from the parties’ divorce case.''These requests are not designed to discover relevant evidence but rather to embarrass Pitt and/or to prejudice the trier of fact, which is not permitted by California’s discovery statutes,' the documents read. The estranged couples' eight-year divorce, which has had them at war over custody of their children, has not been finalized. They are legally single.
