Jon Voight Sends Love To Angelina Jolie After Her Double Mastectomy: 'I'm Always Going To Be At Her Side'.Jon Voight has praised his daughter Angelina Jolie for publicly revealing that she has had a double mastectomy, with the proud dad sending his daughter a whole lot of love.Angelina announced in May that she had undergone the surgery after learning that she carried the cancer-linked BRCA1 gene that had led to both her mum and aunt dying from breast cancer.Voight opened up about his daughter Jolie's decision to go public on her surgery in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. "She's a very brave person and I love her deeply. I'm always going to be at her side," Voight gushed."She handles herself very well. She says what she wants to say now."The actor, who has had a difficult relationship with his daughter in the past, went on to praise his daughter's fiance Brad Pitt for always being so supportive of Jolie. "You want your children to be surrounded by love and I like Brad very much," Voight explained.The 74-year-old recently revealed in another interview that he only found out about Angie's surgery after reading it in the papers. “My love and admiration for my daughter can't be explained in words. I saw her two days ago with my son Jamie," he told the New York Daily News last month."We all got together for his birthday, with her and Brad (Pitt). But I didn't know. It wasn't obvious at all. I found out (Tuesday) morning.”“I was as surprised as anyone and deeply moved by the way she’s handled this."
