Earlier this month, she blamed a bout of chicken pox for forcing her to cancel all promotional events surrounding her latest directorial effort Unbroken. But Angelina Jolie appeared to have made an impressive recovery as she strutted out in public for the first time since suffering through the ailment. The 39-year-old looked as chic as ever in a stylish all black ensemble while shopping and grabbing lunch with daughters Zahara and Shiloh in L.A. on Sunday.Angelina's stylish monochromatic outfit consisted of a blazer, scarf, skintight leggings and a fabulous pair of knee high boots. With no signs of red itchy bumps, she wore her brown locks flowing down her back with little makeup on her flawless bone structure and a large black sunglasses to protect from the sun's glare.Little Zahara, nine, was pretty in pink wearing a pale sweatshirt, fuchsia leggings and a pair of shiny ballet flats. While her eight-year-old sister Shiloh kept it sporty in a grey hoodie, striped shorts and black plimsolls. The trio had been shopping at trendy M.Frederic boutique before making a trip to In-N-Out Burger for a tasty snack. The outing came as Angelina basked in the surprise success of her movie, in which she does not even appear. Despite the lukewarm critical response, crowds have flocked to watch the movie, which has come second only to The Hobbit at the box office. In another photo released today, the actress was spotted hitting up a local Subway sandwich shop with husband Brad Pitt last week.
The Maleficent star first revealed the news of her sickness in a video message on December 12. With pox marks visible on her face she said: 'I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I would be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chicken pox.'So, I will be home itching and missing everyone and I can't believe it because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it, but such is life. There it is. Send everyone my love and I hope everything goes well.'She also said via Universal: 'You have to laugh at the timing. I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken.'I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie’s family, Phil’s daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming.'Since opening on Christmas Day, the film - which tells the story of late Olympian turned prisoner of war Louis Zamperini - has grossed over $47mil at the North American box office.
