Angelina Jolie touches down in Rome with daughters Shiloh and Zahara... as she and Brad Pitt 'prepare to meet Pope Francis'

She’s famed for making a successful career for herself in the acting world, but over the past few years Angelina Jolie has been busy continuing her work as a UN Goodwill Ambassador. And now, the Hollywood star and her husband Brad Pitt are set to be introduced to Pope Francis in a special ‘VIP meet-and-greet at the Vatican,’ according to Us Weekly. The 39-year-old actress was spotted with her daughters Shiloh, aged eight, and nine-year-old Zahara at Ciampino airport in Rome on Wednesday afternoon – prompting further speculation she is due to meet the leader of the Catholic Church in the next few days.Dressed in a chic black overcoat and knee-length leather boots, Angelina was unable to hide her smile as she headed towards her car with her young girls by her side.According to the publication, the American star’s head of security flew out to Italy earlier on to do a security check ahead of the family’s arrival.A source revealed that both Angelina and Brad ‘admire the Pope’ and ‘like the Pope's message’ after he famously spoke about homosexuality in 2013, where he said: ‘If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge?’ Meanwhile, the couple – who have been together for nearly a decade - finally cemented their relationship after tying the knot in August.Angelina recently spoke about their reasons for marrying after such a long time, and how she feels their relationship has changed since becoming husband and wife.
'What was lovely about it was that we didn't feel there was something missing or that we needed to get married. We felt so complete, and the commitment to children is one that you cannot walk away from, so we already had that commitment,' she told Daily Mirror.'It was really that we wanted to re-commit in a deeper way, and we wanted to celebrate the union with our children.'However, despite being a long-term couple, she added that she can feel a change somewhat since becoming a wife: 'And it does feel different when you say, 'my husband' or 'my wife'. It warms you in a different way and you look at that person a little differently.' Angelina and Brad will partner up professionally yet again in the film By The Sea, which will hit theatres in 2015. They will portray on-screen husband and wife in the drama, who end up striking up a friendship with locals of an ocean side town while stopping by during their travels.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie supportive of Shiloh’s choice of gender-identity

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's eight-yer-old daughter dresses as a boy and wants to be called as ‘John.’ Back in 2008, Pitt in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show revealed that even when she was just 2½ years old, their daughter Shiloh already chose to identify herself as a boy. Said he then: “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing. So we've got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want...’ – ‘John. I'm John.’ And then I'll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents, and it's probably really obnoxious to other people.”Wife Jolie back in 2010 also told Daily Mail: "I don't think it's for the world to interpret anything. She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called 'John' for a while. Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It's who she is. It's been a surprise to us and it's really interesting, but she's so much more than that - she's funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie..."
Now, after four years, the whole Jolie-Pitt family still addresses Shiloh as 'John.' At the premier showing of her mother's Unbroken film, her being seen and photographed sporting a short haircut and wearing a suit and tie much like those of her older brothers Pax and Maddox did serve to provoke media attention. As Pitt noted years before, their decision to support their child's choice of gender identity will have some social media users opposing and criticizing them on the issue. However, many more did agree with them. Lisa Suhay at Christian Monitor is one of those who sides with the couple. She wrote: "Jolie and Pitt are doing something very wise and brave by setting an example for other parents to get past the idea that boys will be boys and girls will be princesses, by allowing their child to explore who she is and trust they will recognize her, not by her dress, but by who she is day-to-day - their child."

She's Unbroken! Angelina Jolie takes Zahara and Shiloh shopping as she is seen for the first time since chickenpox bout

Earlier this month, she blamed a bout of chicken pox for forcing her to cancel all promotional events surrounding her latest directorial effort Unbroken. But Angelina Jolie appeared to have made an impressive recovery as she strutted out in public for the first time since suffering through the ailment. The 39-year-old looked as chic as ever in a stylish all black ensemble while shopping and grabbing lunch with daughters Zahara and Shiloh in L.A. on Sunday.Angelina's stylish monochromatic outfit consisted of a blazer, scarf, skintight leggings and a fabulous pair of knee high boots. With no signs of red itchy bumps, she wore her brown locks flowing down her back with little makeup on her flawless bone structure and a large black sunglasses to protect from the sun's glare.Little Zahara, nine, was pretty in pink wearing a pale sweatshirt, fuchsia leggings and a pair of shiny ballet flats. While her eight-year-old sister Shiloh kept it sporty in a grey hoodie, striped shorts and black plimsolls. The trio had been shopping at trendy M.Frederic boutique before making a trip to In-N-Out Burger for a tasty snack. The outing came as Angelina basked in the surprise success of her movie, in which she does not even appear. Despite the lukewarm critical response, crowds have flocked to watch the movie, which has come second only to The Hobbit at the box office. In another photo released today, the actress was spotted hitting up a local Subway sandwich shop with husband Brad Pitt last week.
The Maleficent star first revealed the news of her sickness in a video message on December 12. With pox marks visible on her face she said: 'I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I would be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chicken pox.'So, I will be home itching and missing everyone and I can't believe it because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it, but such is life. There it is. Send everyone my love and I hope everything goes well.'She also said via Universal: 'You have to laugh at the timing. I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken.'I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie’s family, Phil’s daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming.'Since opening on Christmas Day, the film - which tells the story of late Olympian turned prisoner of war Louis Zamperini - has grossed over $47mil at the North American box office.

Angelina Jolie Hires Cyber Security to Protect Her Kids Online

Her kids have shown that they are more than up to the task of stepping in for her on the red carpet, but like most parents, Angelina Jolie says she's not sure if they're prepared for the digital world. So how does the mother of six make sure her kids are safe on the Internet? "We have someone who monitors that," Jolie, 39, told PEOPLE in this week's cover story. The Unbroken director calls herself "old-school" when it comes to technology, saying she doesn't use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and prefers writing things down in a notebook.Still, Jolie understands the dangers that the Internet presents to children. As a result, she and husband Brad Pitt hired a cyber security team to monitor the Internet and social media content that their children, who range from ages 6 to 13, encounter."It's a scary new world," the star says. While Jolie's team controls the Twitter handle @AngelinaJolie, the account remains locked, meaning it doesn't follow anyone or accept followers."It's so beyond what we understand," Jolie says of her and Pitt, who isn't active on social media either. "We wouldn't even know what to look for."Ultimately, Jolie feels relieved that the technologies her kids use didn't exist when she was younger."I got in enough trouble," Jolie says. "It just would have been very documented."
