Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock are in a “film feud,” reports Star, which claims the actresses “became bitter rivals over the lead role” in Gravity.According to an “insider” for the tabloid, “Angie was livid when she lost the part to Sandra because she knew it was a great opportunity.”“It was known as Angie’s movie, but when the project switched studios, the part was up for grabs — and Sandra snatched it,” alleges the outlet’s supposed source. The Star snitch adds, “Sandra knew Angie was interested, so when she was offered the part she went after it with more gusto than usual. Angie’s loss was Sandra’s gain, and they’re both keenly aware of that fact.”Star adds that Jolie is “furious” and “seething over Sandra’s coup — and her Oscar buzz,” having hoped the project “would give her the critical acclaim her career has been lacking.”Uh, Jolie is one of the biggest stars in the world and already an Oscar winner. She is not “lacking” for “critical acclaim.”Still, Star’s so-called “insider” goes on to predict that if Bullock wins the Best Actress Oscar at the upcoming Academy Awards, “you know those cameras will be focused right on Angie to get her reaction.”Considering the cameras usually catch the reaction of the winner and other contenders, we highly doubt the reaction of someone who isn’t even nominated will be the focus.Regardless, this supposed “feud” is as fictional as Gravity itself.Jolie was NEVER attached to the film, having PASSED on the role back in 2010 — after the film changed studios, and before Bullock was ever in discussions for the part.In any case, a source close to the project tells Gossip Cop that claims of a “rivalry” between the two stars because of the movie are completely “absurd.”Of course, Star loves nothing more than pitting two female celebs against each other.

The Oscar-winner takes on one of Disney's most iconic villains in this revisionist fairytale. In recent years, there's been a trend to take familiar fairytale stories and reimagine them for modern movie-going audiences. Disney kicked things off with a twisted look at "Alice In Wonderland," and now, a new teaser trailer previews what we can expect when the studio brings one of their most iconic villains back in a very big way. "Maleficent" perfectly casts Angelina Jolie as the Mistress of All Evil and retells the story of Sleeping Beauty from her perspective. The just-released teaser trailer for the movie shows a young Princess Aurora, as played by Elle Fanning, speaking to someone she cannot see. The scene gives us some idea of what we can expect from the new take on the story.According to Aurora, she has felt the presence of Maleficent for her entire life, watching over her even when she was just an infant. She is, of course, referring to the special interest Maleficent took in the child after her father failed to invite her to the christening. But something tells us there is a little bit more to the story than that.Maleficent hides in the shade before stepping out and showing off her horned look. "Then you'll be afraid," she warned Aurora. From there, the preview shifts to a spectacular event that should be familiar to anyone who knows the original animated movie. She keeps Aurora in a castle after she pricks her finger on a spindle, and Maleficent sends a towering wall of thorns into the sky. If only there was some sort of charming prince to save the princess!

Angelina Jolie's 'Unbroken': First photos from set

Earlier this month Angelina Jolie began production on her second directorial feature, Unbroken, due in theaters Christmas 2014. The film is adapted from Laura Hillenbrand’s bestseller of the same name and tells the true and incredible story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who, while enlisted during World War II, survived a plane crash into the ocean. And that’s just the beginning of the trials Zamperini faced: he spent 47 days adrift on a raft in the Pacific only to then be imprisoned in a brutal Japanese POW camp for over two years.“On set, we started to joke and say, ‘Tomorrow will be easier,’ knowing full well that on this challenging shoot, there are no easy days,” Jolie says via email. “Anytime it gets tough, we think of the real men who lived through this, and no one complains. In fact, we all just feel honored to be here.” In the photo above, Jolie is on set in Australia’s Moreton Bay.
Because production began with Zamperini (played by Jack O’Connell) and fellow airmen and raftmates Russell Allen Phillips and Francis McNamara (Domnhall Gleeson and Finn Wittrock) marooned at sea, the actors arrived on location in Moreton Bay starvation-skinny after an extreme diet protocol. “We’ve begun with the character’s lowest points, though, so I’m looking forward to when [Zamperini’s] in top form,” says O’Connell. “Perhaps the makeup will be less extensive so I might get a lie-in, compared to the current 3:30 a.m. calls.”Kidding aside, the actor feels honored to be playing Zamperini, whom he’s met with twice. “Both times I came away feeling awe-struck,” he says. He has similar feelings for his director, whom he says he likes to think of as the World’s Best Boss. He’s not the only one impressed by Jolie. “She’s extremely bright and subtle-minded and absolutely devoted to getting it right,” says Hillenbrand, who speaks with Jolie regularly. “She wants every detail to be true. It’s easy to fudge things. It’s hard to be devoted to doing things right. She’s taking the hard path.”As for Zamperini himself, now 96, Hillenbrand reports that he’s excited about the film — and its director: “He always says, ‘I volunteer to be in the movie as long as I can play Angelina’s boyfriend.”Below: Jolie and first assistant director Joe Reidy (far left) watch over Domnhall Gleeson, who plays fellow survivor Russell Phillips.
