Angelina Jolie denies her lawyer is quitting and says custody battle is 'entering a new phase'... after claims actress has become 'too venomous' amid divorce

A rep for Angelina Jolie has denied her lawyer Laura Wasser is quitting her divorce case amid claims the actress had made things too hostile.A spokesperson for the Oscar winner has revealed that the custody battle is 'entering a new phase' and Wasser will continue to be by Jolie's side.'I've spoken directly to Laura,' Jolie's spokesperson told People. 'The TMZ story is not true. She's not quitting now or in the future.'A source told the website that the 'the characterization of problems between Laura and Angie is not true.' They confirmed that Jolie is hiring another law firm but it's not to replace Wasser.'Someone is misinterpreting bringing in the experts, which is common at this point in the case,' an insider said. 'It’s entering a new phase.'A report on Saturday claimed that things are getting so ugly between Jolie and estranged husband Pitt amid their divorce that Wasser intended on quitting. Jolie, 43, is allegedly making the divorce negotiations and child custody battle very hostile and has been 'out for blood'.A source connected to Pitt, 54, told TMZ that they believe the Maleficent actress wants 'to kill any relationship he has with his kids'.They also claim that there has been a lot of screaming on Jolie's part, adding, 'She's fueled with anger and has gotten ridiculously unreasonable.'It's become so bad that the mother-of-six's lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented many divorcing celebrities over the years, is apparently going to quit and has 'made it known' to Jolie because it's become too 'venomous'.Wasser, who has worked for stars such as Ashton Kutcher during his split from Demi Moore, Heidi Klum and Seal as well as Mariah Carey amid her divorce from Nick Cannon, promotes settlements and co-parenting.TMZ claims the Wanted actress has already hired another law firm to take over when Wasser officially leaves. The duo's divorce is still rumbling on with disagreements about how much time Pitt gets with their six children; Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, Vivienne, 10 and Knox, 10.In June there were claims that the children were being 'used as pawns' amid the custody battle stemming from Jolie's September 2016 divorce filing.
Pitt was given a summer schedule to allow him to see more of the children while Jolie, who has primary physical custody, filmed Maleficent 2 in London. The actor wasn't happy that the kids were going to be away from their home in Los Angeles for so long.A source told E! news that 'Angelina has been in London and is free to travel for shorter periods of time,' as 'Brad isn't opposed to that ... but she can't leave with the kids for several months.'And it was also reported that the Fight Club star refused to allow Shiloh and Knox to appear with Jolie in her new movie, which angered the Salt beauty and added fuel to the fire. Her daughter Vivienne appeared in the first film, which came out in 2014.A source also said that Pitt and Jolie do not talk to each other at all. 'They are not on good terms and are less than civil,' it was added. In June it was revealed that Jolie had been ordered to allow Pitt more time with the kids and that she risked losing primary custody if she failed to keep to the terms of the agreement.According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County determined that 'not having a relationship with their father' would be 'harmful' to the children.Eldest child Maddox however has been able to choose how much time he wants with each parent because of his age.Additionally, the judge laid out a new cellphone policy stating Jolie must provide Pitt with the cell number of each child so he can text or call each of them at will and without Jolie monitoring the conversations.
The court went as far to state: 'If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Pitt].'Jolie's spokesperson hit out at the leaking of the specific details of the custody agreement.'This misleading leak is not in the best interests of the children. From the start, Angelina has been focused only on their health and needs, which is why it was so important that this last court hearing be conducted privately,'It's deplorable that someone, for their own selfish reasons, leaked selective portions of the confidential and sealed court record to create an inaccurate and unfair picture of what is really happening.'Their current custody agreement is temporary and they will head back to court on August 13 to iron out firmer plans.Jolie and Pitt split in 2016 amid allegations of child abuse against Pitt during an incident aboard a private plane. The Troy star was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.
