Last year she made her rounds in various stunning gowns during award show season.And no one has yet forgotten the leggy showing she put on during the Oscars as she stood with husband Brad Pitt on her arm.But ditching the mainstream ceremonies, Angelina Jolie, 37, emerged on Sunday evening at the 2013 American Society of Cinematographers Awards in Los Angeles.Making her return at a low key red carpet event which was held at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Centre, Angelina failed to put on a glamorous offering.Choosing to keep it very simple, Jolie wore a dark grey tailored dress which grazed her shoulders and featured ruching detail.With her cleavage concealed, the mother-of-six attempted to add a little excitement to her ensemble by putting her slender legs on show. Wearing her brunette hair in a slick ponytail, Angelina looked fresh faced courtesy of her natural make-up look.Adding a hint of colour with a pair of squared amber drop earrings, Jolie strutted along in a pair of sequinned open toe heels.Completing her plain Jane get up, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith star chose to keep her perfectly manicured nails polish free as she showed off a diamond ring.Angelina recently opened up about her relationship with husband Brad and their life together in an interview with Total Film.'We have a very normal, very grounded home,' she said.'And we’re friends, and we have a laugh with our kids. We don’t pay attention to this view of ourselves...we just shut it out.'The Girl, Interrupted actress continued: 'The great thing about having a bunch of kids is that they just remind you that you’re the person who takes them to go poop. That’s who you are!'

News' Ryan Seacrest immediately called out the "Dance Again" chanteuse over the obvious: Had Lopez violated a recent request made by CBS for more PG-rated attire at this year's Grammys?"They didn't say anything about leg!" Lopez protested. "I thought i was being such good girl -- [just] a little shoulder and a little leg." In a surprising email obtained by Deadline, CBS expressly forbade presenters, nominees and performers from pushing the envelope with the evening's sartorial choices. "Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," the e-mail reads. "Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic." Continued the memo: "Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure." Joked Lopez to Seacrest of the mandate: "It didn't apply to me! They mentioned things [in that memo] that i don't say around my house," says the mother of twins Max and Emme, "It's crazy!" Later, presenting the night's first award with Pitbull, the singer joked, "So, as you can see, I read the memo..." As the audience laughed, a picture flashed across the screen of her infamous green Versace gown from the 2000 Grammys. Model Slams Angelina Jolie and Madonna for Adopting Kids in Africa

Mozambique-born model-turned-humanitarian Tasha de Vasconcelos has hit out at celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Madonna for adopting children from Africa rather than donating the money and time needed to help them survive in their own country.“There is something inside me that cries every day for not being in the place where I was born,” she tells The Independent about her family fleeing Mozambique when she was ten years old after a civil war broke out. “That’s how I truly know that you don’t take a child out of Africa. If you want to help them, you help them inside their country.” The 46-year-old, who grew up in Canada and is now based in London, spoke out as she prepares to open an eye clinic in Malawi through Amor – a charity she launched in 2006.She added that Madonna and Angelina are “ripping the heart” out of Africa by “throwing money” at problems there and taking the children away to be raised in Hollywood.She said: “As a refugee I have experienced the impact of leaving behind cousins, family members, grandparents and, most of all, the land we all love. This is why I do not advocate adoption out of Africa to a Hollywood lifestyle, as Madonna and Angelina Jolie have done.”
Whilst a spokesperson for Madonna has slammed her comments as “reckless”, I totally agree with what Tasha de Vasconcelos says.Madonna and Angelina are both trying to help the countries that they have adopted their children from by building schools and opening various charitable foundations based there.And, whilst I do think their intentions behind adopting from abroad were largely good, there’s clearly an element of self-promotion at hand here.It comes off as “Look at me! aren’t I great! I adopted a kid from Africa!” but once home, do they have the time to devote to giving that child all it needs emotionally to adjust to its new life? With their careers and their other children demanding the lion’s share of their time, I’m not convinced that either woman is able to ensure that they instil the sense of security into their adopted children that would help ease the clawing sense of abandonment that all kids who’ve been adopted wrestle with throughout their lives.Is it better for a child to be raised by nannies employed by a wealthy American celebrity and spend their time flying between five-star residences around the world on a private jet or for them to grow up amongst their friends and families in the countries they were born in, with the money for their upbringing being channeled there for education, healthcare and the means to feed themselves? Are Pax, Maddox and Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Davey Banda and Mercy James happier now than they would have been had they been raised in better conditions in Vietnam, Cambodia, Ethiopia and Malawi respectively? It’d be easy to dig out a series of photographs of them looking miserable and post them when in fact, time, and they themselves in another fifteen years or so will tell.

Celebrity couples Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have developed a taste for the Mandarin language and have reportedly joined classes to master it.The couple has also enrolled their three adopted children - Maddox, 11, Pax, 9, and Zahara, 7, - as well as their biological children Shiloh, 6, and four-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne in the language classes.Jolie`s father John Voight is also said to have joined the classes so that he can help the children with their homework."Brad and Angelina want their children to be international and reckon China ... it`s also the world`s largest culture and one of the oldest," a source said.Rumours are rife that Jolie wants to adopt another child and this time it can be from China."Angie is broody and friends reckon the next child will be Chinese as they have become so obsessed with the country," the source said.
