The war between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has been the longest — and bitterest — celebrity divorce in living memory. But only a fortnight after a legal filing which accused Pitt of bullying and illegal behaviour over the vineyard they co-owned, it can be revealed that peace — yes, peace — could at last be on the horizon. For both Pitt, 59 and Jolie, 48, have agreed to mediation which could settle their beef.Documents filed last week in the vineyard dispute show that both stars have agreed to mediation as an alternative method of dispute resolution over Chateau Miraval — rather than the matter going to court. Jolie has also said that she's willing to take part in a settlement conference. What's more, it can be revealed that Pitt has appointed a 'provisional administrator' to Chateau Miraval in a bid to resolve the war between himself and the Russians Jolie sold her share of the vineyard to. That transaction sparked the current imbroglio. The move, at Pitt's suggestion, aims to protect the highly successful wine business which he has helped to build, in conjunction with French wine-makers Famille Perrin. It will see an independent figure come in to assess the winery and how it is run and (it is hoped), in time, facilitate negotiations between Pitt and Nouvel — the investment company his ex sold to Stoli boss Yuri Shefler. A French source confirms the move, saying: 'In view of the dispute between Nouvel LLC (controlled by Stoli boss Yuri Shefler) and Mondo Bongo LLC (controlled by Brad Pitt), Chateau Miraval and its director have requested and obtained the appointment of a provisional administrator by the Draguignan (France) Commercial Court, to enable the company and its director to continue to grow the business and its essential partnership with the Perrin Family until such dispute is resolved, in the interests of Château Miraval, its directors, employees, partners and subsidiaries.' Pitt and Jolie purchased Chateau Miraval, a 1300-acre estate in the south of France, in 2008. In 2013 they started a wine-making business there with the Perrin family — leading producers of organic wine from the Southern Rhone Valley. The couple were even married at the property in 2014. The wine side of things was an almost immediate hit, with Chateau Miraval Rose being ranked the best in the world by many experts (including Wine Spectator magazine). Profits grew from around €1 million in 2013 to around €15 million in 2022.
But in 2016, after an incident between Pitt, Jolie and their children on a plane trip from France to California, Jolie filed for divorce. There have been skirmishes ever since — over custody of the kids, and money. In April 2019 the divorce was 'bifurcated' — a move which dissolves the marriage while allowing other disputes to rage on. In 2022 Pitt launched legal action against Jolie for selling her interest in Chateau Miravel to Russian oligarch Shefler. He had hoped to buy her out himself, and is now seeking to have the sale reversed.Meanwhile, lawyers for Nouvel claimed two weeks ago that Pitt had been 'looting' the wine business and using it as his 'personal cashbox' for 'vanity projects'. They are seeking $350 million in damages. Pitt, now dating businesswoman Ines de Ramon, has been in the UK this summer, filming racing drama Apex, but with the actors strike, he is now understood to have moved on. The star was described in the earlier court filing as a 'bully' who has acted emotionally, irrationally and 'ultimately illegally' over the vineyard where he and Jolie were married. It was said by lawyers for Nouvel that Jolie had to sell the business because after the drunken row on a private plane which ended their marriage in 2016, she was 'uncomfortable' being involved in the sale of alcohol. The filing alleged that their six children were so traumatised by that incident on the plane – described in full, riveting detail - that they have not been able to go back to Chateau Miraval since. The documents alleged that Pitt had run a 'gaslighting' campaign which suggested that the image of the brand was damaged by its association with Yuri Shefler of Stoli, who bought Jolie's share. In point of fact, wrote Nouvel's lawyers, the risk of damage to the brand came from Pitt's own tarnished image. Pitt was bluntly invited to 'look in the mirror.' Pitt stood accused of using a deal with Jolie over the asset as 'leverage' by offering her 'poison pill' terms in a tit for tat after she filed allegations of domestic abuse during their custody battle. It was also said in the filing that the Chateau Miraval company made no repayment of $40 million of loans and that Jolie sought to sell the company in order to 'achieve liquidity' – an astonishing assertion given her long and successful career in Hollywood.

Angelina Jolie stood by Iranians 'defending basic rights and freedoms' on Tuesday in a social media post. The 48-year-old actress and humanitarian took to Instagram to call attention to the situation in Iran following the death last September of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the country's morality police. Jolie shared an image of a woman wearing clear glasses with tears running down her eyes in the colors of the Iranian flag along with the words, 'Woman, Life, Freedom'.'Respect and solidarity to Iranian women and men for their courage in defending basic rights and freedoms, and thinking of those imprisoned or facing prosecution - as in other situations where freedom of expression is restricted or denied - including #ElahehMohammadi #NiloofarHamedi #NargesMohammadi #ToomajSalwhi,' Jolie wrote in the caption for her roughly 14.5 million followers. Jolie in her hashtags referenced Elaheh Mohammadi, 36, who was imprisoned in September 2022 for reporting on Amini's funeral. Hamedi, 30, also was imprisoned for reporting on Amini's hospitalization and death.Narges Mohammadi, 51, is an Iranian human rights activist who is serving a 10-year prison sentence for 'spreading anti-state propaganda' and has remained vocal despite her imprisonment. Salehi, 32, is an Iranian hip hop artist who was sentenced to six years in prison for participating in the 2022 Iran protests following Amini's death. Jolie also took to Instagram last September to raise awareness about anti-government protests in Iran by sharing images of women demonstrating. 'Respect to the brave, defiant, fearless women of Iran. All those who have survived and resisted for decades, those taking to the streets today, and Mahsa Amini and all young Iranians like her,' Jolie wrote in the caption. 'Women don't need their morals policed, their minds re-educated, or their bodies controlled. They need freedom to live and breathe without violence or threats. To the women of Iran, we see you #WomanLifeFreedom #MahsaAmini,' she added. Jolie began her humanitarian work after filming the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in war-torn Cambodia. She contacted the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and went on field visits in Africa before being named as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in August 2001. Jolie has been on dozens of field missions in more than 30 countries and was promoted in 2012 to the rank of Special Envoy to High Commissioner António Guterres.

Angelina Jolie was spotted in New York City bright and early on Monday morning. The Eternals star modeled a summer look with blonde ombre hair that was parted on the side and framed her face beautifully. And the ex-wife of Brad Pitt was dressed to impress in a crisp white trench coat with tailored black slacks and strappy white platform sandals. The Oscar-winning actress looked ready for business as she had a purple folder in her hand and also a booklet with a floorplan drawn on the back. She held onto a black YSL clutch purse. The Mr And Mrs Smith actress was not alone. The Los Angeles native was with two of her six children: Pax, 19, and Zahara, 18, who wore a Tupac Shakur T-shirt. The Maleficent actress, 48, has been in New York City to work on her new brand, Atelier Jolie, which will showcase artisans from around the world.Jolie has been wearing an ombre color in her hair for the past few weeks. The ends were a bright white blonde and the roots much darker as she seems to be growing out her highlights. The change in hair color may be for a new movie role. Her makeup was light and easy as she added oversized black cat-eye sunglasses and drop earrings. The beauty had manicured nails that were long and an off-white color with matching toe polish. She looked ready for a meeting and that is likely exactly what she was up to as she has been building up her Atelier Jolie brand in Manhattan. Jolie had leased 57 Great Jones Street in New York City. The building was once owned by Andy Warhol and was the last place Jean-Michel Basquiat lived and worked, from 1983 until his death in 1988. 'As soon as she walked through the space she fell in love with it,' John Roesch, the broker at Meridian Capital Group who represented the landlord said, per Curbed. He added: 'She made sure she got this deal.' And she plans to open Atelier Jolie in the space, which she calls a 'global family' of underrepresented tailors who exclusively work with upcycled items. 'We hope to create a community of creativity and inspiration, regardless of socio-economic background,' Jolie wrote on Atelier Jolie's website. It will be 'a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors.' It will also be, 'a place to have fun.' The property was on the market for $60,000 per month with a minimum lease term of 10 years - however, it is unclear whether that is how much Jolie will pay. The 6,600-square-foot building had been on the market since November. The realtor said Jolie was 'very hands-on' about closing the deal, and visited the space multiple times over six months. 'I would think you would usually have the team handle the whole thing, but she wanted to make sure she got the deal done,' Roesch said. And Jolie faced competition for the space from multiple people. However, in the end, 'we decided that Angelina's concept would be the best fit and use for the building,' Roesch said.
In June it was reported that she is partnering with Chloe. She has teamed up with the brand to create a womenswear capsule collection. The icon is working with the French luxury fashion house to create the sustainable Atelier Jolie range which has been co-designed by Angelina and Chloé's creative director Gabriela Hearst. Inspired by Angelina's own wardrobe, the collection is comprised of evening wear and will feature fluid silhouettes and tactile details, while offering a timeless aesthetic in line with Jolie's vision 'to create one-of-a-kind pieces that embody personal creativity and purpose'. The collection is inspired by the pair's mutual 'high ideals for the betterment of our species' and the Tomb Raider star is donating her earnings from the collaboration to invest in 'establishing apprenticeships for tailors and artisans at Atelier Jolie'.In a statement, Gabriela said: 'From the moment I heard about Angelina's vision for Atelier Jolie, I believed in it. It is a way to elevate others through the beauty of garment-making and her deep respect for the environment. 'It's an honour for me that Chloé will be the first collaborator for Atelier Jolie, as both have high ideals for the betterment of our species. That is the reason why I love both Angelina and Chloé so deeply.' Angelina added: 'Very few luxury brands are a certified B Corp. It was important to me to work with Chloé, one of the first luxury brands to be a B Corp. It has been a privilege to design with Gabriela Hearst, and I hope all women will feel comfortable and beautiful in this capsule collection. 'My earnings from this collaboration will be invested in establishing apprenticeships for tailors and artisans at Atelier Jolie.' Atelier Jolie will be available from this Autumn. In mid May she shared she is launching Atelier Jolie which will be a space for creative types in the design field. The star shared a look at her new logo over a copper background. 'I'm starting something new today—a collective where everyone can create,' wrote the mother of six. 'Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world,' added the Eternals actress. And the former UN ambassador continued: 'It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I've worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.'
Deadstock fabric refers to rolls of fabric that are left unsold by a fabric mill or leftover from a brand's production run. Jolie ended with: 'I'm looking forward to growing this with you. More soon. Learn more at atelierjolie.com.' Her pal Priyanka Chopra added a red heart and fire emoji. On her website Jolie shared a signed note. 'Fashion is an art I've had the opportunity to play with over the years. I've designed clothes and learned about shapes with many of the best tailors,' wrote the Tomb Raider star. Designers often sketch or approve designs, but it is the tailors who make the difference, she noted. And that is who she 'truly loves creating with,' said the daughter of Jon Voight.Angelina added that these makers rarely receive the credit and respect they deserve. 'I am building a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world. A place to have fun. To create your own designs with freedom. To discover yourself,' she enthused. She added her company will use only leftover, quality vintage material and deadstock. 'You will be able to repair or upcycle pieces from your closet you wish to revive, perfecting fit, breathing new life into what could have been thrown away, and creating quality heirloom garments with personal meaning.'The red carpet darling then said: 'We hope to create a community of creativity and inspiration, regardless of socio-economic background. 'We will spotlight the people who play a part in each creation. We will bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, underappreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill. She then admitted that she is 'more of an artist than a businesswoman' before ending with: 'I hope to see you there, and to be one of the many creating with you within our new creative collective.' In late March, the Beverly Hills native filed for a global trademark under the name Atelier Jolie. A source told The Sun at the time that plans for the new company would include 'everything from custom-made jewelry to couture clothing and tailoring.' The insider added, 'She is a huge advocate for sustainable fashion and this is something the brand will have a major focus on. 'The plan is still very much in its infancy but the wheels are in motion,' the source noted. Jolie also apparently wasn't limited her new line to just clothing and jewelry, as it was said to include bedding and other household supplies. Jolie previously dipped her toes into the jewelry world with the launch of her Style of Jolie jewelry line more than a decade ago. It appears that last major release from the line was back in 2018. Although there is no indication yet of what kinds of fashion Atelier Jolie will focus on, though it's likely in good hands, as the Oscar winner has been a fashion icon going back to her buzzy red carpet appearances in the 1990s.
