In the latest issue of Porter magazine—covered by a very vernal-looking Natalia Vodianova wearing the world's prettiest lip stain—director Sam Taylor-Johnson says Angelina Jolie, who was reportedly also in the running for the Fifty Shades gig, is a very gracious lady."I got an email out of the blue from her saying good luck on your journey," Taylor-Johnson says. "I thought that was incredibly sweet of her."Rumor has it the charm school graduate expressed interest in acting in the film adaptation of E L James's hit book too, so maaaybe Taylor-Johnson was moved enough to offer her a part? Maybe it's the best-kept secret of the decade, and we'll all be pleasantly surprised on Feb. 13? (Please, please, please, please.)On a not-so-warm-and-fuzzy note, Taylor-Johnson says she and James butted heads over the creative direction of the movie."We would have proper on-set barneys, and I'm not confrontational, but it was about finding a way between the two of us, satisfying her vision of what she'd written as well as my need to visualize this person on screen but, you know, we got there."So everything is still cool, because even though making Fifty Shades wasn't all together-forever buddy-buddy-ness, we've got two strong-minded women resolving their differences to make a bunch of other women very, very happy. That's a win in our book.

Brad Pitt Reportedly Wants To Adopt New Baby With Wife.Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly want to expand their brood of six to seven -- or maybe eight. Jolie and Pitt are parents to Maddox, 13; Pax, 11; Zahara, 10; Shiloh, 8; Knox, 6; and Vivienne, 6. Although the two have not publicly said that they want to adopt a Syrian orphan, a rumor that they do is flourishing. A simple search of Jolie’s name on Twitter will quickly bring up “Syrian orphan.” Jolie, 38, and Pitt, 49, want to have a biological baby together and adopt another child, a source told U.K. news site the Sun. “Angie and Brad's attitude toward kids is the more the better -- and that once you have several a few more makes no difference,” and insider said, according to the London Standard Evening. “The publicity would help draw the world's attention to what's going on there. The twins are now 4 and Angie and Brad have agreed it's time for more kids. They're crossing their fingers that they'll bring their next child home soon.” The couple has three biological children together: Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. Their other children were adopted from other countries. Maddox was born in Cambodia, Zahara is from Ethiopia and Pax is from Vietnam.Jolie, the director of “Unbroken,” recently visited Iraq and discussed her travels to that country in an op-ed for the New York Times. “I have visited Iraq five times since 2007, and I have seen nothing like the suffering I'm witnessing now,” she wrote in the piece, published Tuesday. “For many years I have visited camps, and every time, I sit in a tent and hear stories,” she explained. “I try my best to give support. To say something that will show solidarity and give some kind of thoughtful guidance. On this trip I was speechless.”

It was revealed last September that Unbroken helmer Angelina Jolie had found a new directing project (to be her fourth overall) in Skydance Productions’ Africa, a sweeping epic based on Eric Roth’s screenplay about paleo-archaeologist Richard Leakey’s battle with ivory poachers that threaten the existence of the African elephant population and the very soul of Africa. Today, TheWrap reveals that Jolie is looking at her real-life husband, actor Brad Pitt, to play the Leakey role. “I’ve felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life,” Jolie said when the project was first announced last year, “and was taken with Eric’s beautiful script about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man’s footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him.” Jolie previously worked onscreen with Pitt in Doug Liman’s 2005 action comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and both talents are currently reteaming for Universal Pictures’ By the Sea. Jolie is directing that project from her own original script and also plans to star opposite Pitt, Mélanie Laurent and Niels Arestrup.Africa is set to be produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Jon Peters and Jolie herself. Cinematographer Roger Deakins, who also Unbroken, is also set to reteam with Jolie for the production.
