Ever want a new friend who seems like your polar opposite? Well, apparently so does the Duchess of Cambridge. Supposedly, Kate Middleton desperately wants Angelina Jolie to be her new BFF, complete with playdates for their kids. This news -- which comes from OK! magazine -- seems a little far-fetched, doesn't it? You'd think Kate's schedule is already pretty full, what with royal commitments and two little ones at home. But if reports are to be believed, Kate is craving a bit of the glamorous Hollywood lifestyle Angie represents. So, where did it all start? In June of 2015, Kate and Prince William hosted Hollywood's version of royalty, Angelina and her husband Brad Pitt, at Kensington Palace. The couples reportedly bonded over their mutual concern for the illegal wildlife trade. (Isn't that what you discuss on double dates??) Since that time, Kate has supposedly been trying to get Angie and her brood to visit Amner Hall for a playdate with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Again, that sounds odd considering Angie's youngest, Knox and Vivienne, are almost 8 years old and little George isn't even 3! But still, Angie has to be way more interesting than some of the others mums you'd be chatting with for hours on a playdate!Sure, there's plenty to admire about the mom of six. She's a die-hard human rights activist. She's a writer, filmmaker, and an extraordinary actress, but this seems like an odd pairing.Still, who doesn't want that friend who's just a bit different and can introduce you to a whole other side of life that you may feel is missing from your own?Though it always looks like Kate's having a blast whether she's visiting a school, a hospital, or the Taj Mahal, perhaps deep down she's longing for for a change of pace she thinks being pals with Angie can provide. It'll be interesting to see if a new friendship blossoms and if we find the duchess sporting some ink peeking out of those Jenny Packham frocks! Just imagine what the queen would say?

Angelina Jolie's big heart extends to her own youngsters, who have helped their famous mom to 'adopt' a family of Cambodian children and put them through private school. The charity-minded actress was struck by the friendship her children built up with Leida Shoun, 16, and her siblings, after they met in Cambodia - where the star has been shooting her latest directorial effort First They Killed My Father.Angelina's children were first approached by the young Cambodians when they were asking tourists for dollars in their hometown of Siem Reap.Brad Pitt offered to buy them ice cream, but over the course of a few weeks last year, Angelina’s daughters Shiloh, nine, and Zahara, 11, showed their own charitable side to their Cambodian friends. They are 12 brothers and sisters, who are aged between 19 years old and 16 months, and they live in a shack with their parents in one of the city’s slums.Like many in the city, the family were living on food provided by charities and the government, but Angelina’s daughters helped them out.
Angelina's girls took the children for meals, bought them clothes and new bicycles while learning first-hand what life is like for some of the poorest people in the world. At the time Leida said she wasn’t going to class.'The school for me is too far away, I cannot walk there, so I do not go,' the 16-year-old told DailyMail.com.Every day at 6:45 in the morning, Leida and seven of her siblings who are of school age – including brothers and sisters Dyna, Ploy, Lan, Do and Darn - sport proud smiles as they catch the bus in pristine white and blue uniforms. The bus takes them to the school, where they have class five days a week until five o'clock and are given an afternoon meal. The children were enrolled in December and study hard. Soon it won’t just be Leida and six-year-old Ploy in the family who are able to speak English, as the school conducts lessons in both Khmer [the Cambodian language] and English.More importantly the children aren’t on the streets of Siem Reap until late at night, asking tourists for change.
A source who knows the family and used to help them out from time to time said: 'Going to school is the best thing that has happened to them. It gives them hope for the future and much more of a purpose in life, huge changes for them.'Leida has always been smart and had been picking up English, but as she’s 16 she has a lot of catching up to do with some of the other kids in her class, only because she’s not had the same access to education as they have.'All of them are really happy to be going to school and to be given this chance. Most of them are too young to appreciate fully what has happened, but Angelina and her family have already given them more than any cheque could – they’ve helped give them the means to learn and work and prosper for themselves.'Some close to the children worried about how they would integrate with the other children at the school, who typically come from more affluent backgrounds, but so far things have been going well and they have made lots of new Cambodian friends.Ploy told DailyMail.com: 'I like school, I am learning English. It is good for me.'A source at the school added: 'The Shouns are very good children. They have only just started at the school, but they are doing very well, especially considering they have not had the structure and discipline of being at school until now.'They are all very sharp, smart children and we are all sure they have a great future ahead of them.'
The Queen comes second to Angelina Jolie in an international popularity poll

The Queen comes second to Angelina Jolie in a YouGov international popularity poll. Of more interest to courtiers – given the rise of republican movements in the Commonwealth – is that HM’s popularity is now at a high in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. Europeans are not so keen. Countries where the Queen’s distant cousins rule – Denmark, Spain and Sweden – are no keener on her than Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Hence the suspicion that one is a Brexit supporter. When Sadiq Khan joined the Privy Council, in 2009, as a Labour transport minister, London’s new mayor took his copy of the Koran to the ceremony because the Palace didn’t have one. Christian privy counsellors keep a copy of the Bible on which they swear, signed by Lord President of the Council, Chris Grayling MP. Officials considered buying a stock of Korans for future Muslim PCs but found that signing them is considered sacrilege.Screen beauty Kate Beckinsale, 42, with three films due for release, recalls an undignified start to her Hollywood career. Arriving for the premiere of 2001’s flop, Pearl Harbor, she wore a figure-hugging white dress, sans underwear. Her stylist fretted that, when photography flashguns went off, ‘we’ll see your landing strip. So she dipped a razor into a glass of champagne and went up my skirt and shaved it off’. Ah, Hollywood. It’ll never lose its glamour, will it? Before walking onstage to accept his Bafta for Wolf Hall, Mark Rylance, 56, gropes on the floor for his pork pie hat. He always wears one to be photographed or filmed. Is it embarrassment over encroaching baldness?Prince Harry says children are disappointed to meet a real-life prince who doesn’t look the part, adding: ‘So I am going to pack a crown and a cape.’ No need for that. When (if?) he marries he can expect a dukedom, almost certainly of Clarence, which entails a scarlet robe and gold coronet with eight strawberry leaves.
