Her divorce from her husband Brad Pitt is still the talk of the proverbial town, but that isn't stopping Angelina Jolie from seeking out her next movie. Most recently, she was being eyed to board Murder on the Orient Express, but she later decided to pass on the remake. Fortunately for Jolie, there isn't a shortage of opportunities coming her way, as she's now considering joining Tristan's upcoming movie Shoot Like a Girl.Deadline dropped the news that Angelina Jolie is in early talks to lead the theatrical adaptation of the book Shoot Like A Girl: One Woman's Dramatic Fight In Afghanistan and on the Home Front, which actually isn't being published until spring 2017 It's the memoir of Air Force Major Mary Jennings Hegar, the role Jolie would almost certainly be playing. Hegar served three tours in Afghanistan as a rescue helicopter pilot for search-and-rescue missions. During one of those tours, her helicopter was shot down by the Taliban, and despite being shot, she persisted and not only saved her crew, but the three soldiers they were sent to rescue, earning her a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor. The book also delves into a different kind of battle: Hegar suing the Department of Defense over the Ground Combat Exclusion Policy, which prevented women from serving in combat roles. Her efforts resulted in the policy's eventual repeal. Frank Baldwin wrote the movie's script, and once a deal with Jolie is finalized, TriStar will begin looking for a director, as they are eager to fast track the project.Even though nothing's quite set in stone yet, Shoot Like a Girl sounds like the perfect fit for Angelina Jolie. Right off the bat, you can tell the movie will be filled with action, something that the access has plenty of experience with from her roles in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Wanted and Salt, to name a few. However, it also blends in a true life story, which Jolie has dipped her toes into a little bit acting in 2007's A Mighty Heart and directing 2014's Unbroken, the biopic of World War II prisoner of war Louis Zamperini. Ideally these two elements will draw Jolie into Shoot Like a Girl, giving her the opportunity to not only play a real life hero/badass on the big screen.Angelina Jolie's most recent on-screen roles include playing Maleficent in the 2014 movie of the same name (a role she'll reprise in a sequel) and Vanessa in 2015's By the Sea, which she also directed. In the world of animation she voiced Master Tigress again in Kung Fu Panda 3 earlier this year. If adapted right, Shoot Like a Girl could be another winning tale for her resume.Stay tuned to Cinema Blend for all the relevant updates surrounding Shoot Like a Girl and Angelina Jolie's upcoming projects.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have struck a deal—albeit temporarily. On the heels of the actress' divorce filing, the two stars have been trying to settle on custody arrangements of their six children out of court. While Jolie had initially requested that Pitt be granted visitation, she asked for full physical custody of Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Viviennne. As of Friday, per a temporary agreement, a source tells E! News Jolie has temporary sole custody of their children while Pitt has visitation rights. According to a source familiar with the voluntary agreement, both parents have agreed to participate in individual counseling and Pitt's initial visit with his children will be with a therapist, though nothing has been mandated for supervision or monitoring. However, a second source tells us that a therapist will be present for any and all visits until Oct. 20. The actor has also volunteered to complete drug and alcohol testing, but was not required. Since the estranged couple has not agreed to a permanent legal or physical custody arrangement for their children thus far, this temporary plan will be upheld until Oct. 20. This news comes just a week after reports surfaced of an inquiry conducted by DCFS into allegations that Brad was involved in an incident with a child aboard a private plane earlier this month. Since the divorce filing, E! News learned the actor has not seen any of his kids. "He really wants to see the kids and to work out an arrangement that is best for them," an insider previously told us. "[He] wants to work things out privately and amicably."Meanwhile, E! also learned that Jolie doesn't intend for the custody situation to remain permanent. Rather, she believes it's what's necessary right now and knows she and Pitt will need to co-parent together in the future for the sake of their children. On Friday, a source reiterated that her primary focus is the wellbeing of her children.

Courteney Cox wants everyone to know: Leave Jennifer Aniston out of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's split."It's not about [Jennifer]," Cox told Entertainment Tonight at Revlon's Annual Philanthropic Luncheon in Los Angeles on Tuesday. "I feel like we're exacerbating it by even talking about it," Cox said about her longtime bestie and former Friends costar getting dragged into the divorce drama. One day after Jolie, 41, filed divorce papers from Pitt, 52, social media users reacted to the news by tweeting gifs and memes of Aniston, 47, cheerleading and giving I-told-you-so faces among others. #JenniferAniston even became the second most popular trending topic on Twitter, behind #Brangelina.Pitt and Aniston were married for five years before divorcing in 2005, the same year he was filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith opposite Jolie. Cox wasn't the only one speaking out to defend Aniston. Justin Theroux spoke out on Monday, slamming what he called "nonsense" attempts to drag his wife into the divorce."There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently – though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite," Theroux, 45, told Business Insider. "But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."The Girl on the Train actor also commented on the six Jolie-Pitt children (Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne) saying, "As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children and that's all you can really say."
