It seems Universal is still high on getting Dwayne Johnson and Angelina Jolie on board to play The Wolfman and the Bride of Frankenstein, respectively, in their Dark Universe. More past the jump...Though we have heard whispers of this before now, a new report suggests that Universal is still high on getting a couple more massive stars added to their Dark Universe.According to THR, the studio is eager to sign Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson up as The Wolfman, and Angelina Jolie as The Bride of Frankenstein, which is to be the next film in the burgeoning classic monster franchise. No negotiations have taken place yet (as far as we know, anyway) so we'll have to take theses potential castings as rumor for the time being. At any rate, not convincing Johnson and Jolie to join the fun may be the least of Universal's worries, as a separate source indicates that Warner Bros. is "mulling over" legal action for the rights to the Dark Universe brand.More on all of this as we have it, but in the meantime be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
Angelina Jolie “Breaks Her Silence” Tabloid Cover Story Is Made Up

A new tabloid cover story alleging Angelina Jolie has broken her silence about her divorce from Brad Pitt was made up. Gossip Cop can expose this fake news.“Angie Breaks Her Silence! Brad Put Me Through Hell,” blares the cover of Star. The front of the issue is designed to make readers think Jolie suddenly spoke out about her failed marriage and actually made the comment about Pitt putting her “through hell.” This is a lie. First off, Jolie already broke her silence on the split in a BBC interview earlier this year, followed by a “Good Morning America” interview, as Gossip Cop reported in February. Second, she never uttered “Brad put me through hell” to Star or any other outlet. As it turns out, the cover is a bit of a bait-and-switch. “Angelina Jolie may be ready to reveal the shocking details of her marriage imploded,” the tabloid writes inside the issue. In other words, the Oscar winner hasn’t actually broken her silence in the way the front of the edition claims. Rather, she “may” do so in the future.“Angie’s finally feeling strong enough to talk about her ordeal,” a so-called “pal” alleges to the gossip magazine, claiming Jolie has “started to tell friends about how things fell apart because of Brad’s drinking and his failings as a father, and what really happened between him and Maddox on that airplane.” The outlet’s supposed source goes on to assert, “I hear she my even be writing a tell-all, and word is it could fetch as much as $20 million.”The alleged tipster maintains to the tabloid, “I’m sure the revelations would be absolutely explosive… Her tell-all is going to be one juicy read.” The rest of the article is filled out with a rehash of what allegedly happened on that infamous flight, as well as purported details about the breakdown of the couple’s marriage. And what about the “Brad put me through hell” quote? Well, it’s not written like that in the actual story. Instead, the aforementioned “friend” is merely quoted as saying, “She’s been through hell.” That’s far different than the cover line, which Star purposefully crafted to lure in consumers. But the whole thing is misleading and false, not just that part. Jolie didn’t break her silence to the magazine, and she’s not “ready to give her side of the story” in a tell-book. Gossip Cop is assured this cover story is completely made up.

Angelina Jolie opened up about her late mother, French-American actress Marcheline Bertrand, in a new French interview with journalist and longtime friend Marianne Pearl for Elle France. In the interview, which appears in the current issue of the magazine but took place in April, Jolie, 41, spoke candidly with Pearl about how she strives to be an example for her six children just as Bertrand had done before she died from cancer in January 2007 at age 56.“She would have thrived as a grandmother,” Jolie said when asked what she tells her kids about Bertrand. Jolie shares her children with estranged husband Brad Pitt — Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. The legacy Bertrand bequeathed to her daughter lives on in full force both in Jolie’s life and in the lives of her kids.“I know how much she would have contributed to their lives and I am sad they will miss out on that,” she said. “I would give anything for her to be with me at this time. I’ve needed her. I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.” Bertrand, who had small roles in movies — including 1983’s The Man Who Loved Women — raised Jolie and brother Haven by herself after divorcing their father, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, when Jolie was a toddler.“It is the greatest gift and responsibility,” Jolie said about being a mother of six. “It means doing everything that you can to live by your values and try to be an example to your children.” Jolie has previously opened up about how she keeps her mother’s memory alive, including her decision to be the face of new perfume from Guerlain, her mother’s favorite perfume house. “It spoke to her, as it does to me, of beauty, history, and quality; one of the oldest perfume houses in the world, from France, a country I love and feel connected to,” Jolie explained to Marie Claire in April about her first international beauty campaign in a decade. But for Jolie, the campaign isn’t only about fragrance. A longtime humanitarian, Jolie serves as Special Envoy for the UN Refugee Agency, and she has made sure her partnership with Guerlain is just as charitable as it is beautiful. In January, a Guerlain representative confirmed to PeopleStyle that on top of being the face of the product, she would donate her entire salary from the campaign to one of her own charities.“I try to lead by example, being conscious of others and being responsible. And to help them have a broader view of the world,” Jolie also told French Elle about how she shares her passion of being very involved politically with her kids.“But really the only way I know to raise them is to really listen. It’s perhaps the most important thing any parent can do. They are resilient children but they are children, and as much as they need help to understand the hard truths in life they also need what we all need – protection and love,” she said. This year for Mother’s Day in the U.S., Jolie celebrated the holiday with her second oldest son Pax at Los Angeles hotspot TAO Asian Bistro. Pax was able to enjoy some quality time with his mom on her special day as they enjoyed dinner without his other siblings.

Angelina Jolie took her family and friends to the happiest place on earth for her daughter Shiloh’s birthday.Jolie, 41, and her kids, along with some of their friends from Cambodia, went to Disneyland on Friday to celebrate Shiloh’s 11th birthday. Their Cambodian friends are some of the same child actors who appeared in Jolie’s film First They Killed My Father, which airs on Netflix this fall.“All [Shiloh] wanted for her birthday was to see her friends from Cambodia,” says a source close to the family. “She wants to show them America.” And what better introduction to America than Disneyland? The group was spotted around the park by ecstatic fans on social media throughout the day. At one point, Jolie and the kids were photographed inside the Ridemakerz store in Downtown Disney, which is like a Build-a-Bear for toy race cars. The outing was a fun reunion for her kids and their friends from Cambodia. Speaking to reporters at the Cambodian premiere of First They Killed My Father in February, Jolie said, “[My] children have close ties to the children here, many of them are their best friends.” Filming the movie was a family affair for the actress, who has had a close connection to the country dating back to when she filmed Tomb Raider there on location 17 years ago. She adopted her oldest child, Maddox, 15, from Cambodia two years later. When she returned to film First They Killed My Father, which depicts the devastation inflicted on Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge communist party in the 1970s, she enlisted Maddox and Pax, 13, to work on production, and the rest of the kids — Zahara, 12, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 — joined the family in country during filming. At the premiere, Shiloh told the crowd in the Cambodian language of Khmer: “My name is Shiloh and I love Cambodia.”
