Angelina Jolie is part of another power duo.A source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly that the actress, 40, has "struck up a close friendship" with a British House of Lords member, Baroness Arminka Helic. The insider explains that the Unbroken director, who moved to London with husband Brad Pitt and their six children in February, "is readying herself for what could be a full-time commitment with the British government." Adds the source, "Arminka helps Angelina make decisions about her next political move. Angie considers her a mentor." The political pals' relationship dates back to 2012, when Helic was an aide to British foreign secretary William Hague. The actress and Hague partnered on an anti–sexual violence initiative that year. In September 2015, Jolie and Helic, 48, cowrote an article for The New York Times asking the world to stand in solidarity to help Syrian refugees. Now, as Jolie is preparing for a greater role in the political realm, she is trusting her new council entirely — and including her in family events. The source adds that Helic even spends time with Jolie and Pitt’s six children.

Angelina Jolie covers her slender figure in chic grey ensemble as she dines with politician William Hague in London… as husband Brad Pitt films war film Allied. The entire Jolie-Pitt family has been making regular visits to London while Brad Pitt films World War II drama, Allied. And Angelina Jolie was sure to make the most of her time in England as she was pictured enjoying a meal with Conservative politician William Hague on Monday evening. The American actress cut a typically stylish figure as she grabbed dinner with the former UK Foreign Secretary at celebrity favourite Quaglino’s in Mayfair. The 40-year-old kept herself warm on the chilly Spring evening as she draped a light grey shawl over her chic dark grey dress. She added height to her slender legs with light grey Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe heels while she completed the look with a large black handbag. The fresh-faced beauty opted to tie her dark lock back into a ponytail and appeared to be wearing light pink lipstick for the outing. The actress’ diner with the politician comes as no surprise as the pair have worked together in the past on their mission to end war rape across the world.Angelina, who has six children with her film star husband, launched a campaign with Mr Hague in 2012 to fight sexual violence in war.It came after she wrote and directed a film, called In the Land of Blood and Honey, in 2011 set during the Bosnian war. Up to 50,000 women were raped during the 1992-95 Bosnian war.
In 2012, the UN High Commissioner Antonio Guterres appointed Miss Jolie as his Special Envoy. Then in 2014, after two years of campaigning, Miss Jolie and Mr Hague launched a new international protocol which they hope will 'shatter the culture of impunity' around sexual violence in war.Over 155 countries have endorsed the declaration of commitment to end sexual violence in conflict.Meanwhile Brad was able to throw himself into character as he filmed scenes for new World War II drama, Allied (previously referred to as Five Seconds Of Silence) in Southern England on Monday.Braving the rain, the 52-year-old actor put on a harrowing display as he crawled over to co-star Lizzy Caplin next to a fighter jet, who had previously been filmed carrying a gun across the airfield.Meanwhile, it was also revealed on Monday that Jolie will be returning for a second Maleficent movie. A tentative release date for Maleficent 2 has been set for May 2017.

Before Jolie settled down with Brad Pitt, she was with a wild woman! Angelina Jolie‘s wild child past was even more twisted than the world thought! RadarOnline.com has uncovered never-before-seen court documents that reveal the dark truth of her lesbian love lover Jenny Shimizu, one filled with threats, abuse and worse! Jolie and Shimizu’s ill-fated love affair began when they were filming the movie Foxfire, which was released in late 1996.At the time, records show, Shimizu was sharing apartments with long-time girlfriend Maria Luisa Mosquera in Los Angeles and New York. But as her relationship with Jolie heated up, so did tensions with Mosquera — and it ended in court!Records on the case have long since been destroyed, but Radar can reveal that on November 8, 1996, Shimizu posted $20,000 bail for an incident that occurred the previous night, resulting in charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The full complaint was filed on December 4, 1996, and on December 9, Shimizu posted an $80,000 bail for charges of criminal threats and assault with a firearm.By February 7, 1997, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a weapon with intent to assault and felony inflicting visible injury on a cohabitant or spouse, with remaining counts of felony assault with a firearm and making a terrorist threat to be disposed on completion of a probation. The details of the incident are not clear, but she was subsequently ordered by a judge to stay away from girlfriend Mosquera. Mosquera did not respond to Radar’s requests for comment.Shimizu was also ordered to pay a $200 fine, complete one year of domestic violence counseling, 200 hours of community service and sentenced to three years of probation. She served one day in jail. Her legal troubles, however, were only beginning.
On June 27, 1997, the judge admonished Shimizu for showing up late to her probation hearing and urged to bring proof of her enrollment in a domestic violence counseling to the next hearing. But by October 17, 1997, she failed to appear yet again, and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. Then on Feb 6, 1998, she failed to report to her probation officer, resulting in probation being revoked and a warrant issued.Shimizu was technically on the run for four years until 2002, when she was nabbed by the sheriff and put in lockup overnight without bail on February 25, 2002.The next day, she was allowed to go, but told to report to probation officer within 48 hours. On April 4, 2002, she admitted to skipping out on probation for all those years, and told to complete 30 days in jail or 30 days Caltrans graffiti removal, plus pay $30/month restitution.By December 11, 2002, she proved she had completed 218 hours of community service and domestic violence counseling. And on March 29, 2004, a judge ruled that Shimizu had “appeared to have complied with all terms and conditions of probation.” The court ordered probation terminated and her remaining charges were dismissed.
