Angelina Jolie's Broadway-bound new musical The Outsiders has an opening date. On Monday it was revealed the show will kick off in the spring of 2024. Deadline reported that the show will start previews on March 16, 2024, with opening night scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2024. Casting is set to be announced at a later date and tickets will go on sale to the general public on November 1. It is a show based on S.E. Hinton's novel and Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 coming-of-age crime drama. That film starred a who's who of young Hollywood at the time: Tom Cruise, Diane Lane, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, C Thomas Howell and Ralph Macchio.This comes after news her daughter Vivienne will be working with her as her assistant.The Outsiders had its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse earlier this year. The Broadway cast and dates have not been revealed yet. 'I hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse,' Jolie said in a statement.
