Angelina Jolie is the only modern beauty who could compete with silver screen legends Marilyn Monroe and Ava Gardner, according to celebrity photographer Terry O'neill.The Brit has captured the world's most iconic beauties during his prolific career and he insists the days of the movie siren are numbered - because so few current stars possess the look, the elegance and the class of the greats.But there is one actress who rises above the rest - Tomb Raider beauty Jolie.O'Neill tells Parade magazine, "Ava Gardner, Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe, all of them were stunning. Now, they all seem the same. The only one who really stands out is Angelina Jolie, a different class of girl altogether. She's a stunning, beautiful woman - a rarity." O'Neill also reveals the stunning stars he caught on camera all had one thing in common - none of them would accept they were beautiful.The photographer, who was once married to actress Faye Dunaway and who romanced lifestyle queen Martha Stewart, explains, "Beautiful women see all their flaws, not their assets. I said to Ava, 'You are definitely the most beautiful of women'. She said, 'Oh, shut up!' "I said to Michelle Pfeiffer one day, 'You're stunning!' She said, 'Oh, don't be silly'. Liz Taylor wouldn't have it, either. She never believed it. Audrey Hepburn didn't. Actress-turned-director Angelina Jolie has been wearing a special necklace on the set of her new prisoner-of-war movie Unbroken after receiving the gift from the film's real-life subject.The Wanted star has started work on the movie adaptation of Olympian Louis Zamperini's survival story, and she has a lucky charm to help her make all the right decisions.Zamperini, who was captured by the Japanese during World War Two, struck up a close friendship with Jolie while she was developing the project, which is now shooting in Australia, and he has shown his support for the Hollywood beauty by giving her a gold pendant in the shape of a running shoe - a nod to his days as an athlete at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.He tells People magazine, "Angelina is a human dynamo, and I know she will tell this story in the right way."Jolie admits tackling Zamperini's life story has been a little daunting, but she's proud to be in charge of the project, which is based on Laura Hillenbrand's biography.She says, "Like all readers of Laura's book and all people who love and admire Louis, I am a fan. It will be hard to make a film worthy of this great man. I am deeply honoured to have the chance."British newcomer Jack O'Connell will portray Zamperini in the film, while Domhnall Gleeson has been cast as war hero Russel Allen Phillips.Zamperini became a prisoner of war in 1943 when his U.S. Air Force plane crashed down in the Pacific and he was captured by Japanese soldiers behind enemy lines after spending over a month at sea without food or water.

ANGELINA Jolie has had numerous cosmetic procedures, according to a new report.The 38-year-old mother of six has gone for special laser treatments to make her skin look like porcelain.“Angie’s face looks like part of a marble statue,” a source said.“It’s that smooth and polished.“I was told she had Fraxel laser treatments (nonabrasive skin rejuvenation) numerous times in the past three to four years.”Angelina also reportedly underwent an ActiveFX procedure that uses high-energy beams of light to improve the appearance of wrinkles, pigmented lesions and other signs of sun damage.“I was told she even had DeepFX, a more intense laser treatment,” said the source.“She wanted to look her best on the red carpet with Brad (Pitt) when they made appearances for his film World War Z.“Angelina doesn’t consider laser treatment to be plastic surgery because it’s not invasive. In her mind, it not the same as going under the knife.”
