          Are Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson really feuding? One of the tabloids claims there’s a major war brewing between the two actresses. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.According to the National Enquirer, the two stars have been at odds for years but “now things are getting outright volatile” between them. A supposed source says tension recently arose when Jolie pushed for her Maleficent sequel to get released this year instead of in 2020, “putting her in direct competition for ticket sales with Scarlett, who is gunning for her first Oscar with JoJo Rabbit.” The story is absurd from the start. JoJo Rabbit is expected to hit theaters sometime in late 2019, but the film doesn’t have a release date yet. There’s no indication it’s opening on the same weekend as Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, which is being released on October 18.Additionally, it was Disney that decided to push up the release of the Maleficent sequel from May 2020 to October of this year. The studio made the decision because the film would have less competition in that frame. Jolie herself didn’t choose the new date, nor did she specifically target JoJo Rabbit, a World War II satire which doesn’t have a specific release date yet and which is aimed at a different audience than Maleficent 2. By the tabloid’s logic, Jolie is at war with every other actor and actress in Hollywood who has a project being released in the fall.
          From there, the magazine further contends that Jolie “is also staking a claim to Scarlett’s turf by signing up for multiple Marvel movies.” Jolie has only signed on for one Marvel movie, The Eternals, and her involvement in the superhero movie isn’t an attack on Johansson in any way. Still, the suspicious tipster maintains there’s “a ton of bad blood” between the two actress, who are supposedly “at each other’s throats and trash-talking each other to anyone who’ll listen.” Despite the tabloid’s report being baseless and illogical, Gossip Cop still checked in with sources close to both actresses, and we’re assured there’s never been a feud between them. The gossip media seems to enjoy pitting Jolie against her peers. We previously called out the Enquirer’s sister outlet, RadarOnline, for falsely claiming Jolie was feuding with Penelope Cruz. Gossip Cop also busted the magazine’s other sister publication, OK!, for wrongly reporting that Jolie was feuding with Michelle Pfeiffer on the set of the Maleficent sequel. The actress’s showdown with Johansson is equally nonexistent.

The model was at the show to support her husband, John Legend, who was nominated, and she absolutely owned the red carpet in a strapless dress. The ensemble featured a slit all the way up Chrissy’s left thigh, and she posed with her leg stuck out to really show the full effect of the dress. Gorgeous! To complete her look, Chrissy pulled her hair back into an updo, and wore dark eye makeup and a super bold lip color to accentuate her glam. She also wore statement Jaipur Gems diamond earrings and simple, open-toed heels which made her visible legs look even more toned and fabulous! Chrissy just recently returned from a sunny vacation with John, their kids and some friends, and her glowing skin definitely showed UP at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Gorgeous! It’s been just eight months since Chrissy gave birth to her second child, Miles, and it’s pretty clear from this look that she’s bounced back into shape! Chrissy was open about the struggle of getting the baby weight off after Miles was born, but instead of letting it get to her, she took her time and it certainly paid off.Chrissy and John are also parents to a daughter, Luna, 2, so they definitely have their hands full.          Did Angelina Jolie demand to meet with Jennifer Aniston? That was the premise behind a cover story that Gossip Cop debunked exactly one year ago today. We reported it was untrue then, and 12 months later it’s still false.On January 17, 2018, Star published a photoshopped cover of Jolie and Aniston, who were both at last year’s Golden Globes, to make it appear they were inches away from one another at the awards show. Along with that mocked-up photo, the tabloid ran a headline that falsely gave the impression they had an “explosive face-to-face” there. But they never had a “showdown” there or elsewhere, despite the magazine’s misleading front page (below).At the time, the outlet asserted Jolie went “berserk” after hearing Aniston had a secret reunion with Brad Pitt in Aspen. That also never happened, though the tabloid made that claim on its cover two weeks earlier. Still, that didn’t stop the publication from using its wholly fictitious “reunion” narrative to serve as the basis for its fake tale about Jolie “demanding to meet” with Aniston.To push its phony story about a proposed confrontation between the two actresses, the publication had an unnamed and seemingly made-up “source” quoted as saying how Jolie “suspected for a while” that Aniston was trying to get Pitt back. And while the cover made it appear as if there was already a “face-to-face” at the Golden Globes, the magazine’s article inside maintained Jolie was “demanding to meet with Jen,” and if they did, it was “going to be explosive.” But like an actual explosive, the report blew up in the tabloid’s face.As Gossip Cop has repeatedly confirmed with their reps, Aniston and Pitt have not been in contact in a very long time. In fact, after we debunked the magazine’s cover story, People backed up our reporting a month later with a piece about how Aniston and Pitt “haven’t seen each other in ages.” More recently, while fact-checking another tale about Aniston and Pitt allegedly spending Christmas together with his kids, her spokesman asked, “Do readers actually believe this?” before adding without equivocation, “There is not a shred of any proof that Jen and Brad have even seen each other in forever.”
        A full 365 days ago, Gossip Cop stated the Star story was a complete lie, and time has only made it more clear how bogus the tabloid’s tale was. Jolie and Aniston never had a “showdown” over Pitt then or subsequently. And no legitimate media organization has reported about them having a run-in. Additionally, while the magazine’s entire piece was pinned on an untraceable and possibly manufactured source, Aniston’s rep told Gossip Cop on the record the outlet’s article was “just another fabrication.”In the intervening year, the outlet has not gotten any more reliable with its claims about Jolie. Two weeks ago, for example, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for an inaccurate cover story that contended Jolie was trying to steal David Beckham from his wife Victoria. Not only were we told it was untrue, the publication didn’t even offer any evidence to back up its premise.Nor has the habitually discredited magazine been any more trustworthy with its articles about Aniston. In March, for instance, Gossip Cop nailed the tabloid for making up an entirely fictitious story about Aniston being caught kissing and “back on” with Pitt. The publication photoshopped on its cover an old picture of Aniston kissing Jason Bateman in the 2009 movie The Switch together with a 2010 photo of Pitt and Jolie, who it digitally removed from the image.It appears when the outlet wants a juicy story about Jolie and Aniston, it simply manufactures it, using seemingly concocted sources and occasionally photoshopped pictures. That’s fan fiction, at best, and journalism at its worst. Gossip Cop occasionally revisits articles from a year ago to remind readers who it can and cannot trust over time.

Jennifer Aniston Caught In Fake News Linking Angelina Jolie To Justin Theroux

         Jennifer Aniston is now caught in a wave of fake news stories that are wrongly linking Angelina Jolie to Justin Theroux romantically. It all began with a tabloid report that’s already been proven to be untrue. Still, a number of outlets are regurgitating the phony premise that Aniston and Brad Pitt‘s exes are dating without bothering to fact-check the claim. And to make matters worse, they’re profiting off the lie. It all began on Wednesday when a completely untrue Life & Style cover story hit newsstands, maintaining Jolie is dating Theroux and Aniston will be “devastated when she finds out.” Gossip Cop actually quickly debunked that made-up narrative, which is why respectable outlets didn’t repeat the fabricated report. A source close to Jolie, on condition on anonymity, assured us the tale about the Oscar-winning actress and “The Leftovers” star going out on dinner dates in New York was pure fiction. Meanwhile, Theroux’s rep, speaking on his behalf, told Gossip Cop on the record that the tabloid’s article was 100 percent “false.” It’s also the same magazine Gossip Cop exposed when it ran covers that wrongly asserted Jolie and Pitt got back together. That was followed by an entirely ludicrous front page report about Jolie getting married to husband number four. Mind you, it’s the same publication that staked its reputation as well on a bogus cover contending Theroux was dating Selena Gomez. Gossip Cop was the first to rightly bust each of those articles and dozens of others about Aniston, Theroux, Jolie and Pitt.
         We don’t post articles until we’ve contacted several people related to the claims and have come to a determination. Conversely, outlets such as Celebrity Insider seem to rarely if ever fact-check reports, and instead appear to often just either cut-and-paste concocted articles published elsewhere or spin new angles to them. What’s worse is somehow that site is being rewarded with traffic and presumably revenue for throwing up fake news stories.In this particular case, Celebrity Insider posted two phony articles about the topic within hours of each other. One has the headline, “Angelina Jolie Is Reportedly Eyeing A Relationship With Jennifer Aniston’s Ex-Husband After Brad Pitt Divorce,” while the other is titled, “Angelina Jolie Secretly Dating Justin Theroux? This Could Be Jennifer Aniston’s Worst Nightmare.” In neither of those pieces does the blog mention having contacted anyone connected at all to Jolie, Theroux, or Aniston. Both tales are simply rooted in the already discredited Life & Style cover story from earlier in the week.And this is not an outlier. Just a few weeks ago, Gossip Cop shot down a fake news story from that website, which absurdly alleged Aniston and Theroux were getting back together. We also nailed the blog when it posted a work of fiction about Pitt turning to Aniston to navigate his divorce from Jolie. As opposed to those fabricated reports, in every single one of our pieces, we had on-the-record comments. Unfortunately, if you search for articles about Aniston, you might likely end up with manufactured nonsense, which is why if you want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, come directly to Gossip Cop.
