Author Jeffrey Archer has a few ideas when it comes to US politics – suggesting that actress Angelina Jolie would be a suitable candidate for the White House.Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning Archer – who was promoting his new book Tell Tale – admitted that he couldn’t have predicted Donald Trump’s rise to the presidency, and suggested that an actor could even assume the role of US leader.‘If I’d written [Donald] Trump two years ago they’d have said, ‘You’ve gone bonkers Jeffrey!’ he insisted.‘I’ve given up on political stories, Trump’s changed it… Trump’s better than I’ll ever be. My shock for you is we’ve moved from politicians to a talk show host.’ He went on: ‘We will now probably have an actor standing. I think Angelina Jolie might well stand.‘You laugh now. You’d have laughed three years ago if I said Donald Trump.’ Of course if Ange – or any other Hollywood star – were to run for the Presidency they wouldn’t be the first actor to do so, given that Ronald Reagan – who was president throughout the 1980s – was originally an actor before entering politics.President Angelina? Well given her philanthropic work we reckon she’d be a pretty good candidate for the job.

Many people will be donning Lara Croft from Tomb Raider outfits this Halloween. But one woman needs no such thing to have people falling over themselves to compare her to the famous Angelina Jolie movie character.Fans of YouTube star Claudia Sulewski, 21, have long commented on her resemblance to the original Tomb Raider actress, but it wasn't until a recent trip to Cambodia that it became clear just how striking it really was.The Chicago native was travelling through the country with Fresh Beauty when she and the team came upon the famous Angkor Wat temple.The picturesque site had provided the backdrop to one of the Tomb Raider movies, filmed back in 2000.So, knowing that several of her fans thought that she and Angelina Jolie had some similar looks, she couldn't help but snap a very Tomb Raider-esque photo.Wearing just a simple white crop top and black pants with her hair pulled into a ponytail, Claudia was snapped in front of the temple, at the exact spot were Angelina stood while shooting the film. The tree roots climbing along the wall of the temple had clearly grown since its appearance in the film 15 years ago, but otherwise the scene looked just the same. 'Following in mom’s footsteps,' Claudia joked as she shared the photo on Twitter alongside a grab of Angelina in the movie. The tweet was a big hit with the influencer's 300,000 followers, gaining more than 6,000 likes - even though Claudia later admitted 'I wish I had committed to the outfit too.'While she doesn't look like the actress' twin, social media users agree that Claudia could have some Jolie genes.'You literally look like you could be her daughter!' wrote one user, while another added: 'Wow, I mean, I really can’t find the difference Clauds.'

In a galaxy not so far, far away—the South of France—George Lucas now has a new plot of land.In late April, the Star Wars creator quietly purchased a historic chateau with a working vineyard in the Var in Provence for $11.2 million. His new estate is directly north of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s Château Miraval, local newspaper Var Matin first reported on Sunday.This is the latest addition to his Skywalker Vineyards collection, which already owns properties in California and Italy.Margüi consists of 253 acres, including 33 acres of vineyards. Separated by fields of forest from the Château Miraval estate, Margüi enjoys similar micro-climate conditions and under previous owners, it has produced award-winning rosé, and excellent (and largely rare for the Var region) red and white wines. Like Pitt and Jolie’s, the property also has olive groves, producing estate oil.he door-to-door drive between chateaux is approximately two miles. A one lane blacktop departmental road passes alongside both estates.According to Var Martin, Lucas also plans to add a small hotel to the property and has already received planning permission from the local council. This will require another $17.7 million in upgrade and construction, and increase full-time estate staff from 3 to 15.

WOMEN wanting a tinted and defined pout like Kylie Jenner and Angelina Jolie is driving a cosmetic lip tattooing craze at a Five Dock salon.Sydney Permanent Make-Up Centre founder and managing director Rita Porreca has seen a 50 per cent increase in clients requesting fuller lips with a distinct shape and lasting colour compared to this time last year.The answer is lip tattooing, which is timesaving and can last as long as six years.“Everyone wants to streamline their beauty regimen and that is what lip tattoos do,” Ms Porreca said.“Many clients have had their eyebrows cosmetically tattooed and want a similar benefit for their lips with a dramatic or subtle colour which are also on show all-year-round.“A lot of younger women are doing it now because there’s an image to uphold. They are seeing celebrities on social media with perfect lips and it’s very accessible and easy to achieve.” The cosmetic tattooist, who has been tattooing lips, eyebrows and eyeliner for 26 years, said there were three ways to create the newest beauty trend – lip liner, blend or full colour.“Lip liner frames your own shape, lip blend gives a natural look but a bit bigger and full lip makes them bigger with a whole new colour,” she said.“It’s a lip tint and looks quite natural. It can never look like lipstick and have that gloss that lipstick has. It’s more of a matt look.” Ms Porreca was one of Australia’s first cosmetic tattoo artists, graduating from the International Institute of Permanent Cosmetics in the US in 1991. She said while tattooing has always been popular, people were time poor and needed to look on point all the time.“My clients come from all over because it’s such a specialty,” Ms Porreca said.“Lip tattooing is now catching up to eyebrows because people are really interested in their lips and having that beautiful big look and colour.“A lot of people just love waking up and not having to put on lipstick and reapply lipstick. I get a lot of ladies whose lipsticks bleed into their lines and want to prevent that.“Many people have uneven lips. We can correct lips. Some people have skin cancers on their lips so we can rebuild that whole shape for them.”

Gem expert, private jeweler and jewelry designer, Robert Procop, will debut a giant black sapphire that he says is the world’s largest star sapphire certified by the Gemological Institute of America. The 888.88-carat stone will appear at Saks Fifth Avenue at South Coast Plaza until the end of October.The gem is named the “Star of Jolie,” after Angelina Jolie, the internationally known actress, filmmaker and humanitarian. It is the featured pendant on a necklace comprised of 70 black star sapphires, totaling an additional 104.42 carats. The entire piece is set in 18k rose gold and has a retail price of $5 million.The pear-shaped, double-cabochon star sapphire has not been treated by heat or other methods, according to the GIA report. Its transparency is semi-translucent to opaque. There is no indication on the report about it being the largest star sapphire graded by the organization. Its geographic origins are unknown.In addition to her film work, Jolie and Procop have been long-time collaborators in a collection of jewels called “The Style of Jolie” in which proceeds are used to promote education and establish schools in conflict-affected countries through the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which builds schools for children around the world. The first of the schools opened for girls in April 2013 in Afghanistan outside Kabul. It educates from 200 to 300 girls.In addition to the unveiling of the Star of Jolie, Procop will also debut new pieces from his collection with Jolie, as well as pieces from his Exceptional Jewels collection. A portion of the sales from this event will be donated to charity.After Southern California, the piece will travel to Saks Fifth Avenue stores in both Bal Harbour, Fla., and Palm Desert, Calif., in November. The tour will conclude at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., in December.The world’s largest known star sapphire is the “Star of Adam,” an oval-shaped blue star sapphire, currently the largest star sapphire in the world. It weighs 1,404.49 carats and its estimated cost is at least $100 million. It was discovered in Ratnapura in southern Sri Lanka, in August 2015.
