“Every time I see Jon Voight I can’t help but wonder what miracle allowed him be the father to Angelina Jolie,” one Twitter user writes. The Oscar-winning superstar was pulled into the social media whirlpool that was rolling their eyes at her dad, Jon Voight, who posted another of his videos in support of President Donald Trump. But while Twitter users were calling Voight a “totally bats— dad,” they were offering Jolie sympathy for sharing DNA with the outspoken POTUS fan.“Every time Jon Voight goes on tv to tell us again that America needs Trump, I recall that he once went on tv to tell us his daughter Angelina Jolie was crazy, & the media treated it as fact,” one person wrote. “It must suck hard when the world thinks you’re nuts bc your totally bats— dad said so.” In addition to being one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, Jolie’s humanitarian work has led to her being named a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and made an honorary Dame Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St George.Investigative journalist Victoria Brownworth was among those who noted Jolie’s contributions and compared them to her father’s: “Every time Jon Voight turns up to say something embarrassing and fascistic, it reminds everyone of why his daughter, Angelina Jolie, is estranged from him and has dedicated herself to humanitarian causes for women and children.” Another said, “Every time I see Jon Voight I can’t help but wonder what miracle allowed him be the father to Angelina Jolie. I wonder if they’ve done a DNA test. I’m not buying it.” “Angelina Jolie deserved far better for a father than Jon Voight. Jon Voight never deserved a beautiful soul like her as his daughter. Angelina is on the right side of history…Jon is on the wrong side forever,” Chrissi Nielsen said.

Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight posts 'disturbing' video endorsing pro-Trump conspiracy theories

Hollywood actor and the father of Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight, has shared a video on social media promoting a pro-Trump conspiracy theory about the US election result. The 81-year-old, who is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, shared the video late on Tuesday where he called the election a sham and a lie because Joe Biden had won.Voight says that he is "disgusted with this lie that Biden has been chosen as if we don't all know the truth" and seemingly adding a threat to the people that celebrated Biden's being named as president-elect on Saturday. "There will be a price to pay. The ones who are jumping for joy now are jumping toward the horror they will be in for. I know the promises being made from the left to the American people will never come to be.\" He then goes on to reference the American civil war and Satan and calls members of the left 'evil' and has a desire to 'tear down this nation.' " My friends from all colors, races and religions, this is now our greatest fight since the civil war or the battle or righteousness versus Satan because these leftists are evil, corrupt and want to tear down this nation. We must not allow this. We must fight this corruption that has taken over and fight for the good that seems lost." Voight then goes on to talk about the voter fraud that the Trump administration has been touting, without any evidence, and for Trump supporters to put their faith in God." Let us give our trust to God and fight now for Trump's victory because we all know that this ballot count is corruption like they are so let us not back down. Let us fight this fight as if it is our last fight on Earth." He ends by quoting the great boxer and civil rights activist Muhammad Ali.
"As Muhammad Ali said 'it's not over until the last punch you have.'" It's unclear what Voight means when he is encouraging others to 'fight' but he did add a caption to the video reading 'we all know the truth.' Voight has been a passionate supporter of Trump for many years, previously calling Trump the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln. He has also said that 'racism was solved long ago' in a defence of the president and that efforts to impeachment the president were 'evil.' His daughter, Angelina Jolie has had a tumultuous relationship with her father but they have begun to make amends with each other in recent years and have found a common ground in the arts. That being said, the two have vastly different political ideologies. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter in 2017 she said:"We're finding a new relationship...We've had some difficulties, [but] through art we've been able to talk. It's the common language. We don't really talk politics well. We talk art very well." The Trump administration has so far refused to recognise the results of the election and that Biden is now the president-elect claiming that the Democrats committed voter fraud in the states that Biden successfully flipped. Despite this, Trump's team have thus far been unable to produce any evidence of fraud and have already had several legal cases dismissed.

He's been slowly mending their estranged and tumultuous relationship since his daughter Angelina Jolie's divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016. And now Jon Voight has spoken out about how his daughter and the family are going amid their ongoing custody battle over their six kids.Speaking to Us Weekly, the 80-year-old said he 'prays' for the entire family, including Brad, and vowed 'everybody's gonna be OK'. 'She's [Angelina's] a very invested mom. She's on it. She's on it with these kids. She gives them love every second of their day,' he began. 'I pray for all the members of the family - Brad as well. Everybody's gonna be OK. That's it.' The grandfather to Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10, confirmed that the kids, Angelina as well as himself are are happy and healthy despite the ugly family breakdown. Jon continued to gush over his grand kids, revealing they all have their special qualities and all really make him laugh. 'I can really laugh at these guys. They make me laugh, they're funny. They tease me and all of that,' he gushed. 'I could talk a day or two about each of them actually because it's very interesting, their personalities. Very rich personalities with different surprises in them, you know?'According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter in December 2017, Angelina began to bury the hatchet with her father following her divorce from Brad the year before.
She said on the THR Awards Chatter Podcast at the time: 'Jon and I have gotten to know each other - through grandchildren now and we're finding a new relationship. ' 'We've had some difficulties, [but] through art we've been able to talk. It's the common language.' Angelina and Jon's relationship came to a head back in 2002 when he gave an interview to Access Hollywood and claimed that she had 'serious mental problems' following her split from actor husband Billy Bob Thornton. The interview led to the Gia star legally dropping 'Voight' from her name - even though she wasn't using it professionally. 'I didn't want to walk into a room as 'Jon's' daughter,' she explained on the podcast. And it appears as though the pair are taking baby steps with Angelina adding: 'We don't really talk politics well. We talk art very well.'

Jon Voight has spoken publicly for the first time about daughter Angelina Jolie's claim to have been sexually harassed by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.Asked if he knew about her experience with the Miramax co-founder, the Oscar-winning actor, 78, said: 'No, I did not.'He was asked about the sex scandal engulfing Hollywood as he passed through Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.Pressed for further comment, he simply responded: 'Angie's spoken about that and that's it.'As for the number of predators named and shamed, Voight expressed the opinion that the casting couch is something that has always existed.'This happens anywhere people have power over other people,' he said. 'They can misuse it and of course it's going to happen.''Generally speaking, people are respectful,' he added. In October, Jolie, 42, told the New York Times that Weinstein had acted inappropriately towards her in the late 1990s when he was an executive producer on her film Playing By Heart, released in 1998.In an email to the NY Times, that published a blistering expose of Weinstein, Jolie said: 'I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did.''This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable,' she added.Jolie has had a complicated relationship with her famous father from whom she has been estranged for most of her life.Despite a brief reconciliation when they worked together on 2001's Lara Croft Tomb Raider, they spent years not speaking.Voight separated from Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand in 1976 when Jolie was just a baby. They hardly spoke or interacted for years with Jolie allegedly blaming him for breaking up the family. In 2002, the actress filed to legally change her last name from Voight to Jolie, the middle name she had used professionally. That same year, after she split from her second husband Billy Bob Thornton, Voight told Access Hollywood that his daughter had ‘serious mental problems.’Following the death of Bertrand from ovarian cancer in 2007, Jolie and Voight began a slow process of reconciliation that culminated when the Midnight Cowboy star was spotted in Venice, Italy, in February 2010 with his daughter, her then partner Brad Pitt and their children.Voight has continued to be a part of his grandchildren's lives and joined Jolie and the kids for the New York premiere in September of her passion project First They Killed My Father.

According to a new internal report, Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight, has become more involved in the life of his grandchildren than ever in recent years! Apparently, the man is a stabbing grandfather for the six children of Jolie and Brad Pitt and really loves them very much. The source tells HollywoodLife that ‘Jon loves his grandchildren, he has pictures of them throughout his home and office. Every time they are in a magazine, he buys it and saves it for them, he is an extremely proud grandfather. "Angelina fans know very well that her relationship with her father was not always the best. However, after Jon made peace with her, he also began to be much more present in his grandchildren's life and now, according to reports, it's really practical! The same informant came to the plate who even likes to do some more challenging activities with young people, despite their age.‘Last year, everyone was doing this elaborate puzzle that spread throughout the studio floor and he was there helping them for hours. It has increased incredibly in recent years and has really been there for Angie and the children. " Of course, that does not mean that her relationship with her daughter is perfect, but Angelina apparently cares more about having the man in her children's lives than about the fact that the two agree on everything at this time.In addition, they mentioned that the grandfather has a warm attitude with the six children and is very "encouraging, quot;, giving them a lot of confidence in telling them "how intelligent and special they are, strengthening them."

"Jon and I have gotten to know each other — through grandchildren now — [and] we're finding a new relationship," says Jolie on THR's Awards Chatter podcast.Angelina Jolie's off-again,on-again relationship with her father, actor Jon Voight, is on again."Jon and I have gotten to know each other — through grandchildren now — [and] we're finding a new relationship," the 42-year-old actress, who is promoting her fourth directorial effort, First They Killed My Father, tells Scott Feinberg on THR's Awards Chatter podcast (which can be downloaded via THR.com/TheRace). "We've had some difficulties, [but] through art we've been able to talk. It's the common language." Their difficulties reached a nadir in 2002, shortly after Voight and Jolie starred together as father and daughter in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, when Voight gave an interview to Access Hollywood and claimed that Jolie had "serious mental problems." Jolie responded by legally dropping "Voight" from her name, though she had never used it professionally ("I wanted to have my own identity — I didn't want to walk into a room as 'Jon's daughter,'" she explains). For now, though, Jolie and her famously conservative dad seem to have figured out the secret of keeping filial peace. "We don't really talk politics well," she says. "We talk art very well."

Angelina Jolie is keeping her family close — and that includes having dinner with her formerly estranged father Jon Voight. On Wednesday, the two were spotted together at a sushi restaurant in Beverly Hills, along with four of her children with Brad Pitt: Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, according to E! News.In September, the 78-year-old actor told Inside Edition that he was “concerned” for his daughter and grandchildren in wake of the news that Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt.“It’s very sad,” he said. “Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this.” Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in her filing, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, and requested sole physical custody of the couple’s six children. She has also asked that Pitt be granted visitation rights.Voight and the Maleficent actress reconciled after years of estrangement in 2010, after Pitt, 53, convinced the actress to mend fences. The actor, who attended the 2010 premiere of Jolie’s movie Salt along with his son, told PEOPLE in 2010 that distance didn’t put a damper on the relationship he was building with his daughter and grandchildren.“It’s hard for me to be away from my grandkids, yes, but I’ll stay in touch with them,” Voight said.”Thank God we have this technology, and you know, we use all of it.” In 2011, Voight was spotted spending time Shiloh, Zahara, and Pax in London, and eating ice cream.
