Brad Pitt is not developing a romance with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Samantha Robinson, who happens to somewhat resemble his ex-wife Angelina Jolie. That’s the bogus story in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve found it to be total fiction.“Brad Dates Angelina Lookalike!” reads a headline in the latest issue of Woman’s Day. The accompanying article says Pitt shares an “electrifying connection” with Robinson, a 27-year-old British actress who plays Manson Family victim Abigail Folger in Quentin Tarantino’s new film. The actress has a small role in the movie and doesn’t share any scenes with Pitt, but the magazine doesn’t seem to be aware of that.An anonymous source is quoted as saying, “Their connection was unquestionable. Everyone was saying if it hadn’t happened already, they’d be surprised if they didn’t at least go on a date down the line.” The alleged insider adds, “She clearly resembles Ange and you can see she’s totally his type. They enjoy each other’s company because they spent a lot of time on and off the set together.” Once again, Pitt and Robinson don’t share any screen time together.It’s worth noting, Jolie and Robinson only really look alike in that they’re both brunettes with somewhat similar bone structure. Most of their other features are fairly different. Despite both women being attractive brunettes, you’d be hard-pressed to mistake them for cousins, let alone “lookalikes.”
Still, the seemingly phony source continues, “Now everyone is waiting with bated breath to see if [Pitt and Robinson] take it any further.” Well, let’s hope everyone can hold their breath for a very long time because this pairing just isn’t happening. Gossip Cop checked in with Pitt’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the story is false. It’s just another weak attempt at linking Pitt to one of his female co-stars. This attempt is particularly weak considering it’s unclear if Robinson was ever on set with the movie star.Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that Woman’s Day has attempted to create a nonexistent romance on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In May, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Leonardo DiCaprio was jealous of Pitt and Robbie flirting and “hitting it off” on set. Like Robinson, Robbie shares hardly any scenes with the film’s two leads, and noted in an interview that she was “barely” on set with them. This is also the same tabloid that reported a few months prior that Pitt was engaged to Charlize Theron, so that’s the level of reliability we’re talking about here.
