When it comes to evaluating the financial performance of top movies, it isn’t about what a film grosses at the box office. The true tale is told when production budgets, P&A, talent participations and other costs collide with box office grosses, and ancillary revenues from VOD to DVD and TV. To get close to that mysterious end of the equation, Deadline is repeating our Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament, using data culled by seasoned and trusted sources. We’re counting down from No. 20 and will present the data en masse Monday.THE FILM: Two in a row for Disney, this one with another fractured fairy tale from Joe Roth. He practically qualifies as one of the Grimm Brothers for the way he has remade himself by producing revisionist public domain classics, from Alice In Wonderland to Snow White And The Huntsman and Oz The Great And Powerful. This one starred Angelina Jolie and marked the first major studio feature for production designer extraordinaire Robert Stromberg. Let’s see how they did.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The film had a whopping opening weekend of $69.4 million on May 30, and the domestic box office was $241.4M, with $469.3M foreign and another $47.7M from China (worth $11.9M), for a total worldwide box office gross of $758.4M. According to our experts, Jolie had a big upfront payday but not a big gross position. So that means a fairy tale ending for Disney, which kept a whopping $190.77M in net profit. The Cash on Cash Return is 1.37.

India's Sonia Gandhi is 13th, just in front of Jennifer Lawrence.Kate Middleton comes in 15th in the worldwide results but in the UK she was voted sixth, just after Helen Mirren (fourth) and before Aung San Suu Kyi. Kate Middleton has been voted the best dressed celebrity mum, beating off stiff competition from the red carpet's most glamorous stars. The Duchess of Cambridge is no stranger to sartorial charts and polls, but this time she's in a different category – yummy mummies.Having only given birth to her first son Prince George but a couple of weeks ago, the fever around Kate was bound to reach an all-time high, but it's incredible how quickly she's beaten the likes of supermum-of-six Angelina Jolie already.Kate's post-birth public appearance was flawless – a perfect blow-dry and a sunny smile, Kate looked blissfully content and relaxed despite the media furore. As we already reported the soft baby blue, polka-dot Jenny Packham dress Kate stepped out of hospital in so elegantly was a bespoke creation, but that didn't stop fans of the royal causing the brand's website to crash as they searched desperately for replicas. The Duchess of Cambridge also saw off competition from the likes of Amanda Holden and Abbey Clancy in the FashionPerks.co.uk poll. Celebrities who didn't fare so well were Katie Price and Kerry Katona, who ranked closer to the bottom of the list.Despite her well-publicised illness during the early stages of her pregnancy, Kate seems to be taking to motherhood swimmingly. The royal – who's thought to be staying at her parents' home at Bucklebury – is giving the British public a masterclass in how to dress like a fashion icon, pregnant or not. Bravo, Duchess!

She may have been the victim of a targeted cyber attack, but have nude photos of herself made public has clearly not harmed Jennifer Lawrence's popularity or career. The 24-year-old Hollywood star, who is rumoured to be dating Gwyneth Paltrow's husband Chris Martin, has topped a list of the world's best-dressed women. The actress replaces Twilight star Kristen Stewart, who slips to third place after spending two years at the top of the rankings.Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o, who has wowed fashion critics with her red carpet appearances since she shot to fame in the film 12 Years A Slave, came second in Glamour's 50 Best-Dressed Women list.Former Harry Potter star Emma Watson, the highest ranking British actress in the list, takes fourth place, and is followed by former Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and Hollywood royalty Angelina Jolie in the annual poll. The Duchess of Cambridge is seventh, with singer Katy Perry, actress Jennifer Aniston and The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone completing the top 10.Eccentric singer Lady Gaga, whose outfits over the years have included a dress made from slabs of meat and a 'bubble installation', made 11th place.Fashionista Victoria Beckham is 15th, after Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Florence And The Machine singer Florence Welch.Cara Delevingne does not make the top 20 - she's 24th, while fellow supermodel Kate Moss is 35th on the list.Others in the top 50 include Kim Kardashian (29), Miley Cyrus (39), Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (42), Kylie Minogue (47) and Lily Allen (50).Glamour said of Jennifer Lawrence: 'It's not just what she wears, it's how she wears it. Posh beats the Queen and Angelina to top poll of the most inspirational working parents

As the Duchess of Cambridge steps back into the limelight after the birth of Prince George, mothers across the UK have revealed that they most highly rate famous parents who display a good work/life balance.A new survey revealed that 86 per cent of mothers look up to celebrity parents as inspiration and believe that being a working mother helps their children learn the value of hard work. And it is fashion queen Victoria Beckham who tops the charts as the nation’s most inspiring mother, fighting off stiff competition from a list of Hollywood film stars, TV presenters and royals such as Angelina Jolie, Holly Willoughby and the Queen. The former Spice Girl and mother of four has been voted the most inspirational working parent having successfully carved a fashion career while juggling the upbringing of her large brood. The 39-year-old recently commented on her duel roles as a mother and fashion designer, saying: ‘I don’t know how I do it. It is a juggling act. It’s no different for me than any other mum.‘I get up very early and go through spelling tests and times tables tests with the kids like any working mum. But I have great people who handle my schedule…it’s difficult juggling working, having the children, and having a husband who travels.'I do have a bit of help, I have a nanny, I can’t do it all myself…I’d do anything for them.‘But I also love what I do. I think anyone who says it’s easy is lying.’Alongside Victoria Beckham, Holly Willoughby, Angelina Jolie, Princess Diana and the Queen were voted the top five parents who motivate mothers.Peter Andre and David Beckham were acknowledged as the successful fathers who manage to balance their high profile work with family life. The survey also revealed that 58 per cent of non-working mothers revealed they would love to go back to work and be successful like their celebrity idols if they had the same support in raising their family while at work.A considerable 70 per cent of mothers who are unable to afford private nannies like their favourite stars admitted their pay packets do not cover expensive childcare costs.Rather than making a name for themselves and earning a large wage, growing up to be a caring person was the quality that was valued the most by the mothers surveyed (96 per cent) and only 3 per cent considered money as an important factor in their child’s future.A spokesperson for supermarket chain Asda, which conducted the survey, said: ‘Unlike Victoria Beckham, most mums cannot afford costly childcare, but they still want to be the best role model for their children morally but also in terms of work ethic.'Mums today respect themselves and feel respected as much for who they are in the world of work as for who they are at home. For seven in ten mums, work does not pay.'Government, schools and employers all have a responsibility to better support them to balance a successful work and home life and to nurture mums' place in society.’
