Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt never attended college, but now their eldest son will.On Wednesday it was announced 17-year-old Maddox will be going to college in the fall. The university was not named but it has been speculated he might study in either South Korea or New York.'I’m nothing but proud,' the Maleficent actress, 43, told People. 'I look forward to all he will do.' In addition to Maddox, Jolie and Pitt share Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 11, as well as twins Vivienne and Knox, nine. Jolie and Pitt shared custody of all six children after their 2016 split. Though Maddox's university is not known, there have been hints.Jolie was seen visiting universities in Seoul, South Korea in November with her teen son.The top colleges there are University Of Seoul, Kookmin University and Seoul National University.Maddox has likely already been learning the Korean language, also referred to as Hangul, from a tutor. In 2016 Angelina told BBC he was trying German and Russian.'All the kids are learning different languages. I asked them what languages they wanted to learn and Shi is learning Khmai, which is the Cambodian language, Pax is focusing on Vietnamese, Mad has taken to German and Russian, Z is speaking French, Vivienne really wanted to learn Arabic, and Knox is learning sign language,' the Gia star said. And in February Maddox was also seen touring New York University with his Oscar-winning mother. In late 2017, People claimed that Jolie was overseeing homeschooling of all six of her kids at her Los Feliz, California mansion. They have been learning all the basics like reading and arithmetic. And they also take languages classes and are learning musical instruments, it was alleged. 'They have tutors for all kinds of subjects,' said the source. 'The kids are also very physically active. They like soccer and love skateboarding, and also take self-defense classes.' In March Jolie stepped out at the premiere of Dumbo, held at the El Capitan Theater in LA with four of her six kids: twins Vivienne and Knox as well as Shiloh and Zahara. While Angelina did not voice a character in Dumbo, fans can see the actress in the sequel to her 2014 Disney flick, Maleficent.Angelina has been married to Pitt since 2014, but the couple had been in a relationship since at least 2005.The duo met as co-stars on Mr And Mrs Smith, while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

Actor, filmmaker and humanitarian Angelina Jolie is not ruling out running for public office.'Never say never,' Jolie, 43, told People. '[But ] right now I am looking to others for leadership.' The United Nations Special Envoy didn't mention what kind of role might appeal to her, but talked about the issues she's focused on right now, like women's empowerment and a proposal for a permanent international body to investigate war crimes. The long-time member of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has spent much of her free time focusing on international human rights over the past two decades. Recently, Jolie has urged nations to deploy more women peacekeepers in order to prevent sexual violence against refugees. 'If you look across the world, there are far too many women and girls who are not only not seeing progress, their rights are slipping away from them,' she said. 'We have to change laws that treat women as second-class citizens.' In addition to working to change laws around the world, Jolie is also fighting to ensure those laws are enforced. 'One of the things we are putting forward now is a proposal for a permanent international body to investigate war crimes, including mass rape and other sexual and gender-based violence,' she said. This is a goal Jolie has been working on since 2012, when she set up the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) with former British foreign secretary William Hague.'There is now a lot more awareness and discussion and many more countries have made commitments,' Jolie said.'For example, 156 countries have pledged not to include amnesties for rape when they are negotiating peace agreements. It is hard to believe, but peace treaties routinely grant immunity to people who’ve carried out the most disgusting violent crimes against civilians. So we have to make sure all those countries live up to that commitment.Since breaking up with Brad Pitt more than two years ago, Jolie is focused on their six children and her work. Her oldest, Maddox, enters college in the fall. She wrapped up her first starring movie role in four years in 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.' It's due out in October. Her full interview appears in People's April 15 issue.

A trip to the airport usually isn't a fun proposition, but Angelina Jolie looked to be in high spirits as she arrived to catch a flight. The 43-year-old star flashed a winning smile as she strolled up to New York's JFK airport on Saturday. She flashed her winning smile while showing off an elegant beige trench coat. The 5ft7in beauty paired her coat with a black sweater and a slim pair of dark jeans. She rocked a knee-length pair of black leather boots and wore a long camel-colored linen scarf. The Changeling star carried along a large beige bag with a striking red strap as her carry-on. Though Angelina has focused more on directing than acting recently, she might return to her roots with another big budget project. The daughter of Jon Voight is currently in talks to star in an upcoming Marvel Studios adaptation of The Eternals, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, which has been sporadically produced since the mid-1970s, depicts a race of super-powered and long-lived humanoids who are tasked with protecting the human race. It's not clear who she would play or what the story might be, but Chloé Zhao is already attached to direct. She directed the 2018 low-budget feature The Rider, which ended on many critics' best of the year lists.Though she has renewed her focus on film, Angelina's commitment to bettering the lives of the underprivileged around the globe is as strong as ever. She was in New York on March 22 to delivery an address to the United Nations in her capacity as a special envoy for the UN refugee agency. In her speech, she warned that the current waves of violence and bloodshed throughout the world would continue as long as the rights of women are not protected.Despite the numbers of successful women in many countries, 'women and girls are still the majority of the victims of war' and 'the vast majority' of victims of sexual violence. Women also make up more than half of all global refugees.Absent from her New York trip were her six children, which she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, 55.The former couple share three adopted children, Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, and Zahara, 14. Angelina Jolie was all smiles as she made her way to the United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial meeting in New York City on Friday. The humanitarian arrived at the United Nations Headquarters in Manhattan to speak on the role women play as influential peacemakers.Jolie wore a white blouse along with a high-waited black skirt. She accompanied the look with a sand-colored trench coat.As she arrived, the actress greeted the Assistant-Secretary General for Africa Bintou Keit and posed for photos with Lieutenant Commander Marcia Andrade Braga, United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year. The A-List actress and UN special envoy for refugees delivered the keynote address at a conference to raise support for UN peacekeeping missions at a time when the United States is seeking major budget cuts to the blue helmet operations.'I'm a patriot. I love my country and I want to see it thrive,' Jolie told the gathering at the General Assembly.'I also believe in an America that is part of an international community.' 'Countries working together on equal footing is how we reduce the risk of conflict. It is how we avoid the need to send men and women of our militaries to fight and sacrifice overseas.'The United Nations was set up to find ways of resolving differences peacefully and 'it is all in our interest for the UN to be made effective, brought closer to the lives of citizens, and not ever misused,' she added.Jolie's praise for the United Nations stood in contrast with the disdain US President Donald Trump's administration has shown the world body.Trump has cut US funding to the United Nations and his national security adviser John Bolton, a former UN ambassador, once remarked that if the UN's 38-floor building 'lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference.'Jolie, who has traveled to refugee camps worldwide, said that peacekeeping missions 'often represent the last and only hope for millions of people facing daily threats to their safety and their basic rights.'The award-winning actress made an appeal for increasing the number of women peacekeepers in UN missions.Jolie was appointed to Special Envoy in April 2012 following years of service in working with mass population displacement.
