Sure, Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning get most of the attention in the "Maleficent" trailer released Wednesday. But the next generation of the Jolie-Brad Pitt acting dynasty gets her chance to shine, too.Twenty seconds into the trailer, a little blonde girl is seen running through a field, and Fanning's voiceover makes it clear that the girl is a young version of Sleeping Beauty/Princess Aurora/Briar Rose. That's Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the now 5-year-old daughter of Jolie and partner Brad Pitt (and twin to brother Knox).Jolie confessed to the Disney fan gathering D23 that there was an ulterior motive in casting her own daughter. In her spooky costume as the villainess, she scared young children who visited the movie's set, and only Vivienne wasn't frightened."She was the only 4-year-old who wouldn't scream," Jolie said, according to Entertainment Weekly.Us Weekly has reported that two of Jolie's other children, Pax and Zahara, also have small roles in the film.

The Oscar-winner takes on one of Disney's most iconic villains in this revisionist fairytale. In recent years, there's been a trend to take familiar fairytale stories and reimagine them for modern movie-going audiences. Disney kicked things off with a twisted look at "Alice In Wonderland," and now, a new teaser trailer previews what we can expect when the studio brings one of their most iconic villains back in a very big way. "Maleficent" perfectly casts Angelina Jolie as the Mistress of All Evil and retells the story of Sleeping Beauty from her perspective. The just-released teaser trailer for the movie shows a young Princess Aurora, as played by Elle Fanning, speaking to someone she cannot see. The scene gives us some idea of what we can expect from the new take on the story.According to Aurora, she has felt the presence of Maleficent for her entire life, watching over her even when she was just an infant. She is, of course, referring to the special interest Maleficent took in the child after her father failed to invite her to the christening. But something tells us there is a little bit more to the story than that.Maleficent hides in the shade before stepping out and showing off her horned look. "Then you'll be afraid," she warned Aurora. From there, the preview shifts to a spectacular event that should be familiar to anyone who knows the original animated movie. She keeps Aurora in a castle after she pricks her finger on a spindle, and Maleficent sends a towering wall of thorns into the sky. If only there was some sort of charming prince to save the princess!

Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World newspaper paid a private eye to hack the phone of Angelina Jolie’s stunt double, who also was a close friend of the actress, a London court was told Tuesday. It is alleged that the paper employed Glenn Mulcaire to hack the cell phone of Eunice Huthart in 2005 and 2006 in order to dig up gossip about Jolie’s relationship with Brad Pitt. The claim was made by the prosecutor in the trial of two former editors of the paper, Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson. They are accused of conspiracy to hack phones and other related charges. They deny all charges. The court heard that in July 2005 Mulcaire made an entry in his notebook listing Huthart’s cell-phone number and her voicemail password number. Huthart was working with Jolie and Pitt on “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and shared a house with the actress in Los Angeles. “I was working with her while living in L.A. We shared a house and it is well reported in the media that we are good friends,” Huthart said in a statement read to the court. The prosecutor said Mulcaire hacked Huthart’s phone four times in early 2006, when several stories about Jolie appeared in the paper. The prosecution alleges that Coulson, who was the editor at the time, would have known about Mulcaire’s activities. Coulson denies this. Kate Middleton, who later married Prince William, was on Mulcaire’s list of targets, the court was told. Mulcaire, who was paid £100,000 ($159,000) a year by the News of the World, has twice pleaded guilty to charges relating to phone hacking.
